I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 4x4 5.9 Cummins with a custom rebuilt VP44 (not by Bosch, way better that a Bosch built) with about 300k miles. I also have a 2006 Dodge 2500 4x4 with 212k miles, that of course is a common rail with the CP3 high pressure pump. The 2001 got full gauges within a year or so and the 2006 got them immediately. I think it's essential for any diesel owner to put gauges on to monitor several functions that can cause problems. I put 2 OEM lift pumps on the 2001 and had a 3rd under the seat in case it was needed. Only takes about 15 minutes to change one. Since I had full gauges on the truck I could replace the lift pump as the pressure started to decrease. Got tired of replacing it, generally around 45,000 miles, and put a F.A.S.S. system on and sold the OEM one that was under the seat. It has been on about 19 years and has about 200k miles now, still works perfect. Put gauges on your trucks. Fuel pressure is essential. EGT's will help you not overheat your turbo, especially if you tow. Boost gauge will help you determine if you have a leak or a waste gate issue. Help your motor have the long life they are capable of. Another note, I use a diesel additive in every tank full. Lubricates pumps and injectors for a long life. #2 diesel is not so good any more.

Fram filters are garbage puralator seems to be one of the better ones fram has been terrible in testing for many years

So I can’t find this shrewder valve any where. I have a flat bolt on the back of the fuel filter housing. I also have an airdog pump installed. (Not by me) the truck will not accelerate, it starts and idles fine. Is there another way I could test the fuel pressure?

Dang there is no shraeder valve on mine.. I guess someone replaced that bolt at one point..

You don't need an engine that large on a 30" lawnmower. You are just burning more gas to do the same job.

There's a little valve on a 2000 2001 on the pump itself that bleeds out any water be careful not to break it though I'm not sure about the 2001 but on a 2000 there is so I open up that little valve and drain out any water it's not much when I remove the old fuel filter I personally let the fuel drain and slowly remove the fuel filter I haven't used the sucked out method with the tube I just look inside and see if it's clean enough with no sediment or if you do clean it out with the suction tube I would advise putting fuel back in the canister and then submerged slowly insert the new fuel filter attached to the cap of course very slowly and do the no cross threading method moving the cat back and forth until it threads correctly tighten her down then I turn the key on kick it once but don't start it wait a minute or so then start her up you shouldn't have any issues

I got a Accu gauge from eBay professional tire pressure gauge and it won't work on my tires 😂 don't push the valve stem down throw it in the dumpster

As a filter becomes filled with particles, it filters out even smaller particles, beyond specified. & more resistance to flow too.

What purpose is it to spray foam a car? It doesn’t take off any dirt. You still need to hand wash it. I think you wind up using more than three capfuls of soap concentrate

Bro when you remove the strut and ball joints it messes alignment up. When we do alignments we loses the strut bolt and the ball joint. We also adjust the outer tie rod end

My ignition lock cylinder randomly comes out of place and just spins all the way and makes no contact and doesn’t start my truck, I have to fight with it and wiggle it for like 5 minutes like the way your were in the beginning of the video just to get it to start my truck, so I replaced it But noticed it was missing that plastic piece you take out around 10:31 in your video. I put everything back together with the new ignition lock cylinder and still have the same problem I’m guessing that white piece holds it in place and align everything better. Having a hard time looking for that part.

@dieselworld do you know if the glow plug light does not come if failed relay 109 in ALH models? Also, do you know if the output of the 109 is supposed to be 12V? I put 12V on the relay input terminals and got no Voltage out of the output terminals. But, my glow plug indicator does come on. So on one hand, it appears that 109 is bad but without the symptom of the indicator. Thanks for the video!

There is no 'pressure relief valve.' There is no bypass to the bypass, as that's redundant. If that thing fills up, it's NBD, it just stops filtering and full oil flow will automatically be diverted to the full-flow filter. When the full-flow filter fills up, it's bypass takes care of everything.

I'm so sick of this , that's a different setup how many times do I have to retype 1999 dodge fuel filter replacement every year, but 1999 can't find all I want to do is to find out how to change a flippen fuel filter not on a 2001 not a 2000 A 1999 cummins 2500 dodge , I thought thought I heard 2000 was the same not on the sites I've been on been on this for well over an hour , I can't even find how to disconnect the water in fuel sensor it looks fragile and I don't want to break it but I see nothing on how to remove it, no button no slide the next thing I do it to remove that type of sensor connection, just trying to get out of town , and I can't believe not one video on how they come apart you'll find video and they says discount the water in fuel sensor but they don't show you how , the 1st.time I paid.some high price shop to change the filter it.wss 650 for a cheap fuel pump and oil change, that mechanic didn't remove the canister and I believe he ripped me off , he said its not pumping fuel the canister isn't filling up, he told me to look in the canister and he turned the key on and sure enough it wasn't filling up.

I drain my housing first, then do everything you did. And when re-inatalling the cap, you should lube the O-Ring with a tiny amount of clean diesel fuel.
