Despite his successful solo career, I always get the sense that Liam views the past as the best time of his life. As someone who idolised Liam as a teenager and is now a 40 something on the brink of the proverbial 'mid life crisis' I can't help but allow that notion to resonate with me; 25th Album Anniversaries, the return to Knebworth, all of these landmarks, reminding me of the days when I had more possibilities than certainties and how those days only seem like yesterday and unless Liam and Noel can find a time machine and both agree to get in it, things will never be as good again. Perhaps Noels output is more polarising, but for me, it symbolises hope for the future, that age and time need not stifle creativity and perhaps the glory days still lie ahead.

I don't think either of them will ever match the success of the Morning Glory Era! In my opinion that was the last great Era of British Music. I don't blame Liam trying to recreate it because nowadays music is just depressing and awful. I think its sad to see the Gallaghers getting old now!

My kids will never know what it's like to be on the bus into town, hoping that there's still a copy of your favourite bands new album in the record shop, then waiting all the way back home again to play it for the first time; the Internet has changed that. I guess they may have their own version of that magic, but I miss that excitement. I feel sad watching my idols ageing too, because I feel at a crossroads in my own life.
