All of the big box stores carry different things and are different from state to state. Pretty amazing what you can find on a leisurely day out. Yes I felt the leather band needed to be a part of it. @@theartisancompany Hey Connie! Things are moving along with only the occasional setback. I would like to visit HL more often but it's about a 40 minute drive from us. I haven't shopped at Michael's in years. Both the black and white hat with their brand new artisan bands were lovely. Hopefully I will get to make another tutorial soon. @@theartisancompany Well, I didn't buy a hat yesterday. They were a lot more expensive than the one you got. I already have one. It's dark pink with a beaded band. Most off the rack hats are too big for me. But if I ever get to Hobby Lobby, I'll look for them. 🙂

@@theartisancompany Unfortunately, I have a hard time identifying Turquoise because of the other stones that are dyed to look like it. I've worked with turquoise for many years so it's a little easier for me but I totally get it. They are getting so good at copying the real thing but sometimes I get fooled as well. Yes, inspiration and inspiring are great things! The earring is such a simple thing to do and 😁not complicated at all. But it turned out really fun!

Hey girl... most of the time even if they are polished you can still see the grain or texture in the bone. There will not be any seam on it and it will take stain. Bone will be fairly weighty as well when used in a project. Fire Mountain is a good place to get bone. Crazy Crow is another place I buy bone as well as Tandy Leather. If you have a chance to attend a local powwow you can find vendors who sell it. Try Shipwreck Beads too. I haven't looked there in a while but they may have them. I'm sure there are vendors on Amazon as well. I'll let you know if I find any other places. 😁

Hey Michal! Thanks so much! Yes I buy most of my turquoise from US mines. However... there is turquoise I buy from Mexico, Chile and the Hubei mines from China. All of it is beautiful and have their own unique colors.
