I was there! Wave 2 behind the 3:00 pacers! Target sub 3h, mission accomplished 02:57:31. Loved the city and the race atmosphere! Lots of people cheering, incredible!! 🧡 Hope to be back someday!

there are only footsteps, applause and cheering sounds. It's like you're running with the athletes. Excellent shot. Congratulations to the cameraman and director.

I find the pacer system odd. does everyone have a pacer? or just the rich teams? or what? is this a fairly recent development? what was wrong with just having individuals race against each other and the fastest wins?

that's Richard Douma.. normally a 1500 meter runner, but also the Dutch national record holder over the 5k (13'27) and the 10k (28'08). It's a good idea to have a middle-distance champion pace for such distances as that pace is relatively easy for him to hold. It was planned for him to drop out when he did (all the men's pacers have specific distances where they should drop out).

Commentary is non existent. Though when it was labeled “ENG” there would be English commentary explaining the runners and what was happening. 😳

Shame for Mizuno, you should really look at the other running events...Run itself was ok... confusion at the stadium in the morning but ok ..public transport pure ZERO !!! Mizuno and public transport reason to NOT repeat this event ever again

Svaka cast za komentar maratonca Bojana Kampfera koji je zajedno sa voditeljem Draganom Pesikanom ispratio Amsterdamski maraton, recit, inteligentan, precizan, upucen u sve detalje Maratona, sa tacnim detaljnim podacima o svakom trkacu. Prenos je bio na srpskom jeziku. Bravo!!!

The fact is, all those black athletes are no names , juste slaves for running stables run by whites (Jos Hermens ). discardable athletes, juste like tissues. Once Kipchoge, now Kiptum. who remembers Kimetto, first under 2:03 ? Lopes remains in memories, along with Kannouchi, Ceron, Baldini.

It isn't so much the turns that are the problem, but there are several places where you are funnelled from a wide area into a narrow one without being able to spot that it's coming up because it's so congested. I passed 3 fallers, who could have caused a lot more carnage than they did. It's a very engaging and potentially fast course but 20,000 runners seems too many. I was on 2h:50 pace until 2km to go when cramp struck and I had runners within a couple of metres left, right, front and behind for the vast majority of it - not as part of a pacing group but just the general crowd - which was a new experience for me.

@SuperFuzzyDunlop Yeah agreed. I don't know why the race organizers didn't just smooth out that turn to be more gradual. No need for it to be so abrupt in the chicane. I saw that and immediately knew it was going to cause collisions and injuries.
