Question- on longevity are you worried about the small gage wire exposed or damaged that was zip tied along the harness between the two grommets ? I realize it would be really tough to fish a wire through the conduit- Thanks!

I'm not too concerned about that I would say the weak link would be where the wires are tapped into the module in the main part of the rear door. It is a delicate tap/splice and is constantly jostled by opening and closing the door

Am I the only one that feels like you stopped the video way too early and didn’t show any of the items mounted like for every day use other than that. Everything else was great, but I think the part we all wanted to see like it. Stability of it while the vehicle is in motion and going through trails or whatever just regular day-to-day driving and how it holds up that’s what we were kind of looking for maybe you could do like a update like a review like I don’t know how long you’ve had it by now but or your brother has had it but maybe you could do a review on it as to how well everything is holding up I know bullet point does make some really good stuff because I have it and I’m using it to hold two phones on my dash, but I’m looking to get the tablet mount and add it on that other arm but all the videos that I’m finding don’t show it being used for any significant amount of timeor actually in use like how you can position and all that other stuff but like I said other than that video was very informational minus that last part do a review for us. You got a new sub out of me.

I did videos on this as well and you can see some on the off roading we did on those trucks that show what we mounted while driving. Zero issues. My favorite is the Diablo magnetic phone mount. They said it's not suitable for off road, but my heat Pixel Pro phone stays up just fine on any trail

Did you worry about torque specs?
@AZOverland2017
@AZOverland2017 10 күн бұрын
I torque what I can and don't worry about what I can't. I've been working on cars for a long time and have a good sense and feel of how "tight" something should be. I have always torqued every bolt on every engine I've built. I've never torqued an oil drain plug or filter and haven't had a single issue in 39 years. However, if my brother was doing an oil change, I would encourage him to torque those items
@troybabs
@troybabs 6 күн бұрын
@@AZOverland2017 Hey man. Same with me. 40 years of working on my own vehicles and I have never torqued anything. All feel. Never had a problem. Knock on wood! ✊✊. Next week I will be ordering rear shocks, either the 5160's or 5100, but am undecided. My 4th gen is super light as I removed my rear seating, so probably 150 lbs lighter than stock. Hence my debate. I should probably go 5100's for this reason, as the 5160's might be overkill for street/highway driving. Thoughts?
@AZOverland2017

@@troybabs I would lean towards 5100 for your setup, especially if your not doing a lot of off-roading. If you are ordering from Underdog make sure they give you the discount. You can always pick Brett's brain (1 of the owners) on this. He is a wealth of knowledge

im trying to wire a 3-wire exaust valve into one of these in a maverick x3. (red, black, white control wire) only way I have gotten it to work was to do white and back into the switch panel and red on to its own fuse with constant power, only problem is the valve is open on start up until I push the button, not the end of the world but I cant figure out a way to reverse it.
@AZOverland2017
@AZOverland2017 11 күн бұрын
Have you determined that white provides provides power for the Closed function and Red provides power for the Open, with black for ground? If so, what would happen if you reverse the white and red locations?
@RubSomefastOnIt
@RubSomefastOnIt 11 күн бұрын
@@AZOverland2017 black is ground. if i have black and red hooked up to positive and negative, tapping the white on a positive terminal will open or close the valve each tap. tried reversing them and it only opens or closes once then wont go back, so as far as I can tell the only way to do it is to have the valve open on start up with that switch and to close it by pushing the button every time.

Very excited about this and the original video. I have a gen 5 SR5, and like these wheels, they look so good in black! Question, I assume you are off-roading regularly as well? Curious how these hold up with the roughness of our desert here in AZ.
@AZOverland2017
@AZOverland2017 13 күн бұрын
Yes, they look excellent in black. They have held up incredibly well, 3 years later. The only real damage done was from the alignment tools they clamped on to my front wheels after the lift. There was a little delamination on the very outer edge of some of the wheels, but that wasn't for a while after application. They key is prepping correctly and thoroughly and applying enough product and it will be extremely durable, even with the AZ off-roading.

Looks like yours is doing much better than ours. The wife wants me to put the oem radio back in. The radio is buggy on bluetooth connection and sometimes it connects and carplay works, other times you have to go into BT settings and manually connect, and sometimes that won't even work and you have to key cycle the vehicle and try again. The volume in radio mode goes from too loud to complete mute in one adjustment. It's too easy to get into the media players and difficult to get back to carplay screen. I still haven't found a way to adjust for siri and alexa voice prompts without blowing the speakers when it reverts to whatever media mode you were in. Ordered in October and would return in a heartbeat if they would let me but they've apparently already pulled this from amazon.

Wow, that sucks that you're having issues with this. I haven't experienced any of that except the volume differential from navigation voice then to music. But, that has a few settings that I played with and can be adjusted. I use Android Auto and have had no problems at all. It connects automatically every time. On the last version every once in a while I had to reconnect manually but I have had that happen with just about every Bluetooth accessory I have ( speakers, earphones, etc.) My daughter is the only one that uses an iPhone and we haven't had an issue with her connecting or losing connection. I haven't experienced a volume knob issue either. Have you tried to update to the latest software or have you done a factory reset? The only bug that I have is when using either Maps or Waze once in a while I lose the navigation voice. I'm pretty sure it has to do with when I input an address; If I'm doing it on my phone before I get into the vehicle and then let it connect or if I input the address on the head unit screen. Try the factory reset and update, you have nothing to lose
