I can no longer find the video where the expression T1*V^(gamma-1)=T2*V2^(gamma-1) is derived. Could you perhaps help me by telling me which video of the course this is discussed? Thanks in advance, Fantastic videos!!

Hello sir... I do not understand how you equated Pext = P... As I understand it, the external pressure cannot be equal to the internal pressure, unless the process is reversible... Is there something more to it? Would you be so kind as to point that out, or correct me if I am wrong? Thank you.

I need to watch more of your lectures. I came here to answer a question about biological systems and entropy. I've learned from other physics and chemistry lectures biological systems consume lower entropy substances (food), metabolize those for energy. Obviously, eating a chicken curry and rice, for example, will give you some good energy. As a result: you keep warm, you have glucose to fuel your brain and muscles, required macro and micro nutrients, etc. Reflecting back to your H2 + 02 = 2H2O reaction: This by definition the produced water is lower entropy, when counting the number of moles of reactants and end products. Question 1: How does this square with this reaction is highly exothermic, which means a lot of energy is "lost" during this reaction? All chemistry professors love to demonstrate an 2H2 + 02 filled balloon then set that on fire, resulting in a bright flash and a huge big bang in the lecture hall! Second question: Just from the carbon (graphite and diamond) example, is it fair to conclude the lower the absolute entropy of a substance, the harder it is? Is a "perfect crystal at 0°K the hardest possible substance? Or does absolute entropy and "hardness" not have a direct correlation? Thanks for sharing the wisdom. Much appreciated. I'll add you to the "must watch list", along with "The Mechanical Universe and Beyond" lecture series.

Hello, not sure what I am doing wrong, but I cannot seem to get the answer for B) part ii. Is there any canceling out of values happening that I may be missing. I keep getting approximately the same answer as I did for the Ideal gas answer for A) part ii

Man, I'm really really not usually a fan of learning my class material through means other than lectures/textbook/homework etc, but holy crap these videos just organize the material of this particular chapter soooo much better than my textbook does. Thank you so much man

Thank you! This playlist makes this material less daunting for anyone taking Physical Chemistry II. I understand why you might have stopped the series based on the general demand. I will say, again, thank you for taking the time to present this information in a clear way that is sometimes not available with the professors we have. I think with this information I'll be able to tackle the rest of my semester.
