Roman? That's Spartan, like you said. If it were Roman, it should be a Gallia helmet that were used by Legionaries during the 1st Century AD.

Hello. Great work! I checked your Etsy to see if maybe you had the full Bo-Katan armor and jetpack but all I can see is the chestpiece. Any chance you will offer all the other pieces as well?
@letsmakegeekstuff47993 ай бұрын
I don't have all the armor on my website unfortunately, just the helmet and the chest armor. I've planned to, but life has gotten in the way. Sorry about that.

how do you find the measurement of the pattern? Like you said it is a bit confusing.
@letsmakegeekstuff479911 ай бұрын
Hi! Most of my patterns will give at least one completed measurement in the instruction section of the pattern. I try to give the measurement I think will be most helpful for sizing correctly.
@glydelkarlstad3569 Жыл бұрын
hi what about the size of the other body parts like the arms and chest area for making a breastplate for example?
@letsmakegeekstuff4799 Жыл бұрын
If you are given a size of a completed item, like the length of a bracer, or the width of a chestplate, then you can use this calculation. Measure yourself to find out how long you'd like that measurement to be on your completed item, and do the calculation. Do keep in mind that this only scales the entire item, it won't make something thinner, or wider for example.

wouId 1mm eva foam work for gIuing veIcro onto?
@letsmakegeekstuff4799 Жыл бұрын
Most velcro will be stronger than 1mm foam. So some options: find very weak velcro, use only a very small amount of velcro, or always make point of unfastening by pulling directly on the velcro itself and not on the foam.

@@letsmakegeekstuff4799 how thick shouId the inner foam be then?
@letsmakegeekstuff4799 Жыл бұрын
oic. Yes, for the underfoam you could do a thinner foam, just be sure when you are opening it that you pull apart the velcro rather than pulling the foam itself. @@markvo3137

If I want to lengthen just the circumference piece for my helmet, can I just lengthen that piece Or do I have to largeness all pieces of the helmet.
@letsmakegeekstuff4799 Жыл бұрын
This method enlarges the entire pattern. If you want to change just one aspect you’ll have to do that by hand and it will require you to make changes to the entire pattern.

Will the metal rip the foam over time?
@letsmakegeekstuff4799 Жыл бұрын
Thinner foam can be torn over time, but I have done the grommets/eyelets in 5mm foam and used bracers for years without any problem. I think one key is designing it in such a way that there is not a lot of stress on just a few eyelets. If you have a long line of them, it evens out the pull on each individual.
@charliewest7468Ай бұрын
@@letsmakegeekstuff4799 Is this with regular 5mm craft foam, or EVA foam? I think in a prev video you said the Tree of Gondor bracers (with the grommets) used basic craft foam, but I wanted to check

The approximate inside circumference of this helmet when printed at 100% is 60cm. The measure from the top corner of the eye hole to the tip of the side piece is 17cm. There are instructions on how to resize the helmet in the pattern. You can also watch my youtube vid "how to resize digital patterns" which walks you through the printing settings to make adjustments.
