Helene and Sol’s playing certainly complement each other. They seem to have a synergy that is masterful. That only comes when the two are on the same wavelength. No doubt they share the same values and seem to cre deeply for each other.

Sorry, but the sound and the picture isnt in sync. When I see Hélènes hands moving over the tangents and hear something different it is not OK. Even if they play very good.

the work of an artist is to bring the composition or piece he wrote or someone else to light in this case to our ears and souls so K i do not understand what Stravinsky means by it.

The awe in Grimaud & Gabetta is the interacting in dramatic immediacy. It is like the melodies resonate in their soul. The piano & cello have their individuality in clarity, good dynamics, rhythmic and technical proficiency. The artists performed Brahms sonata No. 1 & Debussy Sonata in D minor with poetic beauty full of expression. 'DUO' is simply a wonderful captivating musical treasure, SUBLIME & heartfelt.

Hi Helena, I am a bit late here, but I just discovered your comment when revisiting this video. I wanted to let you know that my mother, born in Ohio in 1909, was also named Helena. She was of German ancestry, and had sisters named Rozena and Olivena. (And yes, this is a beautiful performance.)

H. Grimaud & S. Gabetta share the spiritual sensibilities. They present an extraordinary rendition in Brahms sonata. Uplifting and downright listenable rendition, considering the tempo speed is well rhythmically controlled. There might be the absence of emphatic gestures. Both artists performed with superb dexterity!
