I was at Ogilvie yesterday and no one in the station could explain how to get to the market from inside the station. This video was extremely helpful as the entrance from inside Ogilvie is not intuitive unless you have used tracks 5 and 6. Why, oh why are there no signs or directions posted anywhere inside the station? The market looks empty..devoid of customers, because no one can find it!

It's never empty ... usage is lighter on warm sunny days, but it's never empty. This vid was shot during COVID times. There are 10 levels including the lower level where there is a lovely auditorium. The seating areas where there are people are away from the escalators. If it was empty it was because it was early a.m. on a weekday in the summer. I am here nearly every other day, and I can never find an outlet to charge my phone. Also COVID. Everybody thought it was the end times.😅

When I worked in Chicago in the early 90s the underground would be very busy during rush hour during the bitter winters. The shops, the restaurants, and bars would all be filled with people. I went back to visit in 2018 and the whole city felt emptied out top and bottom. It was like a hollowed out city with lots of beautiful buildings. Wasn’t like that before when I would go shopping after work and there were still people around at night.

thank YOU FOR THIS FANTASTIC VIDEO. The pictures that I have seen in books simply doesn't do this beautiful area justice. The Frank LLoyd Wright homes are exquisite. Thís video motivated me to get on a plane and visit this area in person. Again my sincere appreciation of a beautiful video

You missed two sections. First of all, on the west section it starts by going down the escalator in City Hall. At at the east end you should have continued into Millennium station. A lot of small shops and restaurants there. And from there you can come up into the Prudential tower and then into the AON center. That would be the full journey.

Fun to see. But Don't tell people that is " downtown Chicago ". It's the Northside. Lakeview. 'Wrigleyville'. Not downtown.

I wish there were more places like this open to the public. The Wrigley Building, Prudential Building, and Board of Trade all used to have observation decks. I think the Carbide and Carbon Building did as well.

It's been years since I used the Pedway. I'm glad to see they've improved the signage, because it can be confusing. It's more extensive than shown in this video, of course. It continues north beyond the end of this video.
