Hey brother hoping u can help here. I am not getting power to my unit. Copied your wiring exactly but without the axxess on the Newport version of this radio. Had the same wiring harnesses. Is it possible that the unit wouldn’t be getting power bc I don’t have the axxess device? I thought it would at least get power but maybe the speakers wouldn’t work.

I did test each wire and confirm they were all working

I disconnected and lubricated the Corvette C5 headlight wire harness clip. It was initially hooked to a small rectangular piece of plastic below the clip. You can see where the clip should slide in, however, I’ve tried and tried, but the large clip will not go back into the little rectangular piece. Any tips on how to do this would be much appreciated. Thank you so much. Love your videos.

If you remove the two cover screws at the back of the cover before you raise them they are very easy to get to . Then you can raise the lights and the rest is the same

This was helpful. I bought a Chilton manual to learn how to adjust the headlights but it didn't go into this level of detail. It gave me no guidance on how high the adjustment aim point should be. It also doesn't say where the adjustment screws are located or how to access them. Thanks for the info.
@merlestoltz61118 ай бұрын
The adjustment screw you said was for side-to-side adjustment is NOT for that. It also changes the height... The shorter adjust screw mostly changes the high beams. I think these two screws work together to kind off twist the head light assembly. I had one high beam hitting the top the trees and the shorter screw was the only thing that would move it. This video was helpful, but I did not think it necessary to us wd40 or to remove cowling. Going thru the plug works just fine and a 1/4 socket fits over the adjust screw as well.

I'm installing a retrosound (Newport) in my 96 Caprice, and this was the closest to mine. My question. For the harness, you didn't have to plug everything up for it to work, right? Just the corresponding connections on the stereo?
@yukonejcc89710 ай бұрын
Good video things I learned was the covers holding the front seat nuts slide forward after push clip is removed. Second was VERY important while seat is plugged in adjust seat up all the way with the switch if not you can not remove the T40 in back otherwise than that very easy job good job 👍

I would advise putting some tape on the threads or measuring the block before you remove it. If both rails are not lined up the same the seat will bind and ruin the motors. Otherwise from that great job

What part of North Carolina do you live in.? I was stationed at at Pope Air Force Base near Fayetteville North Carolina in the 1970s. North Carolina and South Carolina have many beautiful places to go to. Your video so far have been really good. Thanks for making them. 👍🙏

Good video. We have to find alternative parts on these older cars. I ended up putting in an oil catch can on mine after I found oil in the throttlebody and the intake manifold.

I have installed some of the most winning custom car stereo systems in the world. I do not recommend conecting any kind of ground to a seat bolt. Seats move. If you don't like the ground near the Amp, create your own. Make sure it doesn't move. Also, many people install stereo wiring with wire nuts. These are only good for stationary wiring such as inside a home. Vibration will eventually cause a wire nut to get loose. You do not ever want to see a dash fire.

great video! ive seen enough videos where im going to do what you did here with a different stereo. After I will figure out how to install front tweeter speakers if I can figure out the reverse polarity wires.

Honest question, why would you want the highs and lows on at the same time ?
@MrJunior8200610 ай бұрын
Projects more light onto the road at once. The low beams are obviously aimed lower so they don’t blind oncoming traffic so if they stay on with the brights that’s more of the road coverage that’s illuminated.

Good visual on where the adjustment screws are located, but the two high spots are supposed to be lined up with each other, not stepping up twice. Your passenger side is adjusted too high with this. You also may need to adjust them both in a bit, so that the high spots of the cutoffs are closer together in the middle of the beam. When making these adjustments, try for 15-20 feet away from your surface, so you're not adjusting too high and then blinding oncoming drivers with out of adjustment housings.
