Iv heard arguments that it may of been the first massive attack on the human species by another and they wiped out 3 quarters of our population. First documentable case of a massive attack by another species i guess is the point here.

"In the Philippines they killed Rats because they have to eat them" Funny enough that was actually true because there was a species of rat that can be found on SEA countries especially in the Philippines called "Rice-field Rat" where they eat crops and plants and as the name suggests they live in the Rice fields unlike the rats that we knew

Big admirer of Burroughs' work and I like this film, it's a fine effort. Peter Weller was perfect for the lead, a great actor and almost impossibly handsome.

This sequence is brilliant, i laughed and am still horrified. This split reaction is the exact reason this film is brilliant. This is a movie thats great for people who love horror films, yet this isnt horror.

That's a very interesting argument given that it wasn't the rat that carried the bubonic plague, it was the fleas on rats.

I always laugh about the Simpsons joke where Bart and his friends want to sneak into an R-rated movie, so by title alone they pick Naked Lunch. They leave it very confused and weirded out.

That was the same set used in Rocky Horror Picture show during the laboratory scene. So campy and blood spurting like Monty Python. Joe Dellasandro in his slightly Brooklyn accent kills me! "You must fuck life in the gall bladder!" "Otto, you pervert! Turn around" classic Udo Kier. Die already!

I always remembered liking this movie. I saw it as a kid when it came out to TV in the 80's. I started building guitar FX pedals in 2017 and I built circuit of the 1978 ProCo Rat Pedal. I scanned and used the VHS box cover art of this movie for the FX pedal enclosure and called the pedal "Of Unknown Origin". lol.
