What model of CF card you're using? I have the same problem with my Canon 7D Mark II. You don't need to transfer the file to lightroom to see the image corruption. Just go to your camera and use the function which converting raw image to jpeg. You will see the same image corruption on your camera LCD screen. I'm wondering if my Transcend 32GB 400X card created the problem. I will try my other card (same brand same model) and see if the same problem occurred. I should try a more expensive card too. I also updated my camera firmware and hopefully the issue will be gone.

Mel, did you find a fix? My .CR2 files are unreadable and similar to yours coming out of my 7DII. Not even the Canon DPP4 software will open them, even though the thumbnails seem to display fine. If you found the problem, please post it because my camera has spent more time in the Canon repair facility than in my hands. Well, not really, but it feels that way. Thanks in advance.
