Very well designed station. Congratulations Sydney! Looks like the Metro is in the process of expanding, too. How big is it now, and how big will it get once the lines under construction are completed? BTW, how big is the Light Rail system? I'm curious to see how it compares to the subway and light rail systems in Los Angeles. It's going through it's own expansion as well including the opening of a light rail connection to the LAX airport via a new Automated People Mover in 2025. One of the subway lines is also expanding with the first three new stations opening in 2025 as well. Thanks.

You can see the Sydney Rail map at 0.17 but it doesn't include our light rail lines (there are 2 btw, with a third one expected to be open soon) Most of our network is heavy rail double decker trains. Currently we have one metro line operating through the North West and it'll soon be extended through the city centre and toward the South West. Two other metro lines are currently under construction as well. One will be an alternative route connecting our main CBD to our second CBD, but it isn't expected to open until 2032. The other is to connect Greater Western Sydney to their new airport that is also currently under construction and expected to open in 2026.

There are actually 3 light rail lines: L1 Dulwich Hill L2 Kensington L3 Kingsford The fourth will run through Parramatta & surrounding areas eventually.
