Seems you lose the beautiful color of teak though with Triton...

It's a shame that the image you show is the one of a Aquapel clone. Last 6 months. I used the original on my windshield and lasts a year.

How long will this protection last before you have to strip it and re apply?
@ditecmarineproducts23 күн бұрын
Triton 2.0 will last between 4-6 months depending on conditions the teak is in. If in hot, direct sunlight for most of the day, or on high traffic areas of a deck, closer to 3-4 months. If the teak is in shade and some sunlight, closer to 6 months.

Can't stand to see people rinsing snappy teak into the waterways.
@abele01Ай бұрын
Snappy 1 + 2 = Salt Water . Not a fan but technically its safe for the environment at least (your boat and teak on the other hand?). This does not mean that each individual chemical in Snappy or the other brand in its own right is as benign as Salt Water, however, the fact this guy is doing all this without gloves or shoes then explaining how Snappy or the other product burns your skin and clothes is more than questionable... Also the 'large amount of ALGAE blooms are actually teak residue and oil with the part 1 Glycol additive that is used as a surfactant penetrator causing a clumping emulsion one it hits the lower PH salt/ brackish water, the instructions say to apply, clean and then apply step 2 on top to avoid this (no affiliation to the brand Starbrite). I'll leave it there but love the Ditec products, people and ideas behind their brand.

Or use one part each vinegar, Simple Green and water to clean. Sealing is good. Oiling is bad-makes teak moldy quicker.

I like what the product shows it does. Is there a way to give the wood a deeper color. It looks dull on that table you showed.
@ditecmarineproducts3 ай бұрын
This is the color of natural clean teak, a light golden brown. We do not use teak oils because of the harmful effects they have on your teak. Read here: ditecmarineproducts.com/blogs/news/why-you-never-use-teak-oil

When do you scrub, when applying or after the 5 minute wait?
@ditecmarineproducts3 ай бұрын
When using Teak Magic, you'd apply Part 1 to the surface, let sit for 3-5 minutes, and then scrub the surface. Thoroughly rinse Part 1 off before applying Part 2. After applying Part 2 to the surface, let sit for 3-5 minutes and then rinse.

I am buying a new house that has a teak deck. It has been neglected for some time and would prefer to sand it down first. If I sand it down first could I only add the Trident product to protect it?
@ditecmarineproducts4 ай бұрын
Yes, you may apply once the teak has been sanded down and all previous stains and oils have been removed from the surface. Triton will work best when applied to wood in its natural state as it binds to the wood fibers.

Can you buff with the product if you don’t have an electric buffer?
@ditecmarineproducts5 ай бұрын
You can still buff the glass by hand using our G200. This will work to remove any deposits that are on the glass, however it will take much longer and you'll need to work in smaller sections. If your glass has scratches in it, you will not be able to remove these unless you have a buffer.

@ditecmarineproducts6 ай бұрын
When you use Triton, the wood becomes highly water repellent so that the water beads on the surface of the wood, rather than soaking in, protecting it from water damage, dirt, UV rays, and more!
