The third skin is unlocked when you beat the game on survival mode.

apparently the 3rd skin can only be unlocked by beating the survival mode...which I can tell you is easier said than done

Yes, for so long as a kid I wondered how the CPU got the “extra cool color” lol. Eventually I figured out you when you make it through survival mode, you unlock the 3rd skin for the Dino you beat it with. Once unlocked, to play with the skin, instead of pressing X or O on the dinosaur, press Square and it will be there :) I played this game so much. I still have my copy.

it's funny because if you listen carefully.... almost every sound effects are actually different variations of lion roars... sometimes mixed up with something else

Carcharodontosaurus,Spinosaurus, Pachycephalosaurus,Cryolophosaurus, Triceratops and Albertosaurus can be unlocked playing with certain dinos. And for unlock the third skin, you will pass the survival mode with all the dinosaurs.

They have a stegosaurus on the options menu, I don't know why they didn't put him in the game. Anyway, pachycephalosaurus and carcharodontosaurus were badass here, and not just because they have long names

@TheBluePachy u know most pple would call this a velociraptor? XD jk lol, i agree with your point one question tho: dromaeosaurids are deinonychus, dromaeosaurus and utahraptor and neovenatorids are velociraptor and megaraptor? (real question is: does megaraptor have a long and slender face, like the velociraptor?)
