The 'Them' that you're talking about are not Left at all. If the very first premise of this interview was that the Left are not about ideas, then you need to have ideas because otherwise these conversations struggle to be more than finger pointing at the very same mouse wheel of privileged people. The intellectual Left are hobbled by their deep catchphrases and constant critiques of other Leftists, in fact they themselves lack ideas. Communicating ideas is a much tougher job and it's painful to hear these conversations.

The posh left are a problem. They can afford to be anarchists and send their children to good schools.

Tulsi Gabbard is a right winger. She fooled the left using her "anti-war" stance and now being a Fox News darling.

Intellectuals, true intellectuals, since ancient Athens, have always been cosmopolitans. Conservatism, since Burke. have always tended to be closed inward, and as we all know, often ethnocentric, racist and exclusionary. The "Left", which is no thing beyond a broad, abstract convention of those who wish social change, civilisation, has always been cosmopolitan. I don't even consider myself to be an anything-"ist", least so a "leftist" It was called the Socialist INTERNATIONAL for a reason. It was never called the Socialist Nationalists. If you do not have a universalist, cosmopolitan project and instead you only have attention for your tribe, for an exclusive collective, if you fail to feel empathy, have a plan and actually prioritise those who suffer most on earth, you are simply no decent human being. No Christian, no leftist, no civilised human being.

This is NOT AN INTELLECTUALLY HONEST conversation. It is a simple caricaturisation of an entire world spectrum, not a specific movement or party. Neither "The" Left or "the" Right are an actual entity, the left less so. They are simple conventions. To adscribe so many properties to a world-wide, arguably about half the humans on earth is not only bizarre, but epistemologically illegitimate. If you want to victimise yourselves or self-affirm at least do so with open theses, not with final sentences assumed as self-evident facts, and address them to actual entities, not a caricatured, reductive image, a straw-man.

"No borders, No bosses, No binaries" the motto of every single obnoxious college RadLib larping as a leftist... when will the TRVE™ left finally resurge and overthrow these bourgeois identitarians? i swear to god, these people are funded by the CIA to deter genuine revolutionary socialist movements...

These people are so stupid. The article, which Aimee read aloud, said that white working-class voters began leaving the Democratic Party in the 1960s. That’s the same decade Democrats benefited them with important and popular reforms like Medicare. There wasn’t a long passage of time in between during which the party’s ideology radically changed, as Malcom suggests.
