Very interesting thanks Paul and Marie. I didn’t know that Downton Abbey was filmed in Berkshire. Loved the town centre, it seemed quiet there. You did a lot of walking, I’m glad you went to the Toby carvery…. And the Costa. I had a Frappa this afternoon. Delicious fresh cream.

Hi Joan, many thanks for your comment and its so lovely to hear from you. We had a lovely cream tea when we went to Highclere but unfortunately didn't know that we would be talking about it 8 years later in a video so didn't get a photo lol, it was blooming nice though, we had a lovely day out. Oooh very jealous of your Frappa Joan, they are my favourite, after a scorching hot boot sale there is nothing better than a drive though Costa and a freezing cold Frappa. Can't wait lol. Thanks so much for watching Joan, take care and enjoy the rest of your week. 👍💖

I very often go to Newbury on Thursdays for the market and the butchers on the bridge. Never been to the castle will have to look that up! My home town of Reading has some nice places. Forbury gardens, abbey ruins and the canal run though the oracle centre.
@BreakingFreeWithPaulAndMarie21 күн бұрын
Hi Carole, many thanks for your comment. How long did it take us to get this video out lol. Too much time spent decorating. Oohh Reading sound lovely, we will add it to our ideas list so thanks for that. In Newbury a few years ago we had the best Fish Finger sandwich we have ever had at the bridge in a pub by the river. Massive battered pieces of cod, none of your limp breaded fish fingers at that pub, absolutely gorgeous but this was about 5 years ago so don't want to go back in case they aren't as good lol. We are looking forward to having another day off, just need some nice weather now. Thanks so much for watching Carole, take care and have a great week. 👍💖

Our daughter used to love going to the arcade on those 2p machines, we would spend about £8.00 for her to win a 50p key ring, its crazy what you do as parents lol. Top tip, the change machines at arcades are great for getting change for a boot sale and a lot easier than going to a bank, its a challenge these days, to find a bank that still does counter service lol. Southsea and Portsmouth was somewhere I went often in my teenage years so fond memories. I spent ages making a gorgeous turquoise chiffon mini dress which my sister borrowed. She went on a date with her boyfriend, got a bit drunk, fell down the steps at Southsea Castle and ruined the dress! I did forgive her and she later married him plus I carried on sewing and made a successful business out of my hobby so all good.

It's always nice to walk along the waterfront at Lee - bracing in the Winter months though! - and we take our dog there quite often. It's disappointing that parking charges have been imposed along Marine Parade - it can only dissuade casual visitors to the detriment of local small businesses. My tip would be to park for free around St. Faiths Church as there are usually open space there - that said, likely to be challenging in the Summer months as daytrippers will no doubt head for there.
