La diferencia es notable. Arriba la temperatura en la noche llega a -1 a veces a menos, abajo 14-16 grados

Awesome video. What was the wing you're using? Looks like you had a good bit of gliding time...but the wing seemed smaller than a typical paraglider wing? Thanks!
@cameraotoko7 жыл бұрын
Fart Knocker I think it's just a case of wide angle distortion making it look smaller than it is. it was an Advance Alpha 4 (large)

beautiful scenery !! How was the flight through the clouds ?? Turbulences ? Did you hike all the way up ? :) I'm going there in a couple of months, and I would appreciate any kind of practical informations ! jb
@cameraotoko9 жыл бұрын
I cheated and took a helicopter up to the summit. Flying through the clouds was a bit turbulent, but nothing crazy. The hard part was keeping straight, it was very disorienting while in the clouds. GPS helped a ton!

Great job! Loved the video. I've taken an introductory course last year but looking forward to getting certified this year. Is this a P1 certification?
@cameraotoko9 жыл бұрын
I think P1 requires a few flights demonstrating a few concepts, so it's part of it in that sense.

@cameraotoko11 жыл бұрын
This was my first time launching in high altitudes, the wing certainly behaved differently at 13,000 feet trying to launch. The winds were a bit squirrely and about 45 degrees cross to the slope we launched from, and the slope was very steep making for poor footing on the pebble sized volcanic rock. I attempted about 5 reverse launches, but each time I turned the wing just fell back. Afterwards I switched to a forward launch and got off on the first attempt.

Looks awesome man.. I've always wanted to try something like that. But I always have a little fear for strong winds and clouds. How where conditions at take-off? was it very difficult?

It depends largely on where/who you learn from. The school I learned from provides equipment for your first 5 solos, then after that they expect you to start buying gear (through them); but they'll also rent gear if you aren't ready to buy at something like $20/flight. If you're seriously thinking about taking it up, I'd suggest getting on contact with a school and just ask how they might be able to accommodate you to spread that cost out a bit. It's been an amazing experience for myself!
@kylecrispin12 жыл бұрын
I want to learn how to go paragliding super bad! It looks like so much fun. The rigs seem really expensive though. Are they rentable (after some lessons of course)?
@cameraotoko12 жыл бұрын
Keep me posted on that, they do fly year round... so as long as the weather works out it should be possible.

Loving the videos Matt; would love to tag along when I come up over winter break and maybe catch a tandem flight myself.

It's the second time I've flown away. The first time I went to the Issaquah highlands... an easy flight to do if you get to 4-5k elevation, can just glide out. I needed to catch a few thermals to make it to North Bend.

If my calculations are correct, it's about a 1 mile ride down. Took me roughly 3 hours to climb the glacier, and 15 minutes to get down :D
