I have no clue, it was pretty old. Boat is about 23 years old.

Just ran across this. What a vessel, man. When I was about 17, we knew a family at Dauphin Island, AL they owned one, probably about this same year. Hell, it could even be this very boat. My family had a 20’ Glastron Gulfstream (which I still own), and lemme tell you, that Gulfstream will suck up some heavy seas for a 20’ hull. We used to follow the Bertram out to the reefs, ‘cause the Bertram had the electronics of the day. I swore I would own a Bertram 28 FBC one day. Now at age 63, I haven’t yet fulfilled that dream, but a year from retirement, I’d pull the trigger if I could find one that had already been updated. I’m pretty mechanically inclined, but I just don’t wanna go through the whole restoration process. I’d be willing to pay a premium for a really nice turn key example, though.

I had to put this one on hold also. Economy is killing us. Think we get ahead then bam, homeowners insurance increase etc. but it’s paid for so I am keeping it

Do you know how far apart the prop shafts are? Or the bunk boards? I'm planning to buy a bertram 28 that's currently in the water and put it on a trailer to take it home. I'm just wondering if I will need to move the bunk boards.

There really isn’t a plan for the boat. The guy just would build what you wanted. His hulls were all the same design

Does the state put a rag in the boat showing weight rating and max horsepower, like a factory boat would have?

Not on a custom one. This one is actually considered a homemade Jon boat. I do think they are changing it though where it’s harder to do that.

I had a guy build the hull in 2018. 16k for the hull. I am guessing he had around 12k in materials at the time. I am sure it’s much more now.

So I am working on my 19’ and should be done with it soon. I am going to jump back on the 26 probably in August. I am cutting out the console and having a different one(wider with side rod holders and windshield (curved glass) put back in. I will also continue to tear out the cabin on the 28 Bertram this fall when it gets cooler

I may take a look at it. I know the Yanmars have been installed in the 28’s and are good engines. But I know Cummins has always made a good engine too

I plan on going with Yanmar Diesels. I went back and forth on maybe going with outboards but the diesels are going to be my choice. I am hoping to jump back on the 28 this fall and finish gutting it.

I have two talons that are already purchased. And I do plan on a 36v trolling motor. I am wrapping up my 19’ in a couple weeks and will jump back in this one and my 28 Bertram tear down

It was built in 2018 and it was 16k. He no longer builds boats and is retired. Most builders you are looking at 30k+. Their fit and finish is a little better but his fit and finish isn’t bad.

Solid teak man in 2022 that’s $ thousands of dollars about 10,000 to be a starter figure you will love fake teak after you see the price

Some teak will be solid but a lot will be teak veneer. I know it isn’t cheap but that’s what I want. Yea I will have way more in the boat than it will be worth.
