Good review, it's nice to hear some good music and not rap for a change. I've owned these speakers before and just bought 4 of them and a Sony SA-WM40 12" 90 watts Powered Subwoofer. I'll pick up a second sub once I find it, to have a sub on the left and right channel. These by far are the best newer speakers (1990s) you'll ever find at their low cost. :)

You should get the maple version of these if you can rather than the black ones. I have both(i'm in Europe) and believe it or not they're actually not the same speakers, the maple model sound much better imo

what tweeters do they have? I was told they have piezoelectric tweeters resulting in metallic artificial highs. There are no frequencies reaching even 10kHz in this video, so there is no way to tell...

Thanks for sharing. I just picked up a 1422 myself and am in the process of bring it back to good health. Great looking boxes and at about 1/3 the cost of a comparable Wurlitzer.. (Hate to say this but I would HAVE to repair or replace that tweaked turntable platter..)

I agree! I am currently playing this with my band and I am by myself right now at home trying to practice to get better and I found this to play with and their drum line is playing too loud and over the others, flute is really quite, as well as clarinets, this sometimes happened to us and we just correct ourselves and also I think drum major was a little ahead idk

In case you or someone else is still interested they're worth it, but my advice would be to get the maple model not the black ones in this video. Believe it or not they're actually not the same speakers, the maple version sounds much better imo
