You probably spent three times what it cost you to build that thing on Diesel

While a super cool build, I think an old deuce & 1/2 cargo truck platform might be a little more efficient. The old ones with the multi-fuel Continental diesel would make one hell of a zombie apocalypse camper!

I wanted to, well still kinda want to build something like this on a Tatra T813. Put a full travel trailer on the back, or even find an old hi-low so I could have some level of clearance going down the road

Owner is a mechanical engineer and added the camper himself, it has a civilian 8.1 liter Cummins and enough solar to power his single wide on fully paid for property in Arizona, he uses the solar to weld on his other projects when needed, he also owns the first rally fighter, which he helped design and build while working for the company as an engineer

Don’t think I’d have a HEMTT. Those things bounced like crazy and we’d be smacking our heads on the roof with the slightest road bump all the time. Imagine what’s going on inside your mobile home with everything bouncing around. Civies have no idea how much those HEMTT’s suspensions bounced. Would be better off in a LMTV, MTV, 5-ton, Duece and Half, Cougar, or if going smaller a M-ATV or HWMMV with shell or just frost seats covered and rear open bed to build your own tiny house on the back. Also they make military Vans and expandable Vans for the rear of LMTV, MTV, and 5-Tons along with the civilian camper versions for the MTV family (FMTV) at OshKosh. And yes those military engines are designed to run on all kinds of fuel sources as long as you mix them with a certain amount of diesel. So potentially you can make a deal with your local fast food place to get their used frying oil, strain it, and mix it with diesel to lower your fuel bill. Oils, (food, car, and other lubricants that burn), alcohol, regular gas, etcetera. As long as it burns, liquid, and can be a potential fuel source the engine will use it with diesel to get your vehicle moving. May not get great gas mileage and smoke like a forest fire but it will go.

I'd add the BrightDrop Zevo 600 and Zevo 400 to this list - It's what we build our RVs on! They've got 270+miles of range, a huge interior (RV queen bed fits sideways and there's over 6 and a half feet of head room), a super modern design, and now they've got access to the Tesla Supercharger network too!
