@@BaileyChap yes it T gauge, the layout hasnt been out in years but think it might have been at a show over the weekend in NSW. Its a lot better in person to see the detail.

its been owned but Just Track from 2011, used in 2012 upgrade of the Gawler line also used was cab over Kenworth? in think. My video is 10years old not and also was at emu with ballast wagons for the Mildura line to SG but not sure it was used in 2017. not sure where it is now but guessing its still being used somewhere when needed. i was trying to get video of it working but this is all i could get, it was about to be loaded on semi.

They ad a bit more to the layout but takes a little to set them up. They work great once setup.

Great video, Stu! Nice to see my layout at the end of the video! The last few scenes I was standing to the side operating the layout whilst you were filming lol 😆. So sorry, didn’t even recognise it was you. I think I had one of my other mates there showing them the new layout. It will be again on show at AMRE in June albeit with a few changes. Both mum and I came up with the layouts name on that weekend too! We’ve called it Cali Bach Rheilen, which means Beautiful Little Rail/Railway in Welsh. Cali is actually named after our Golden Retriever, Callie. Callie’s name means beautiful in both Celtic and Greek dialects. The locos will hopefully be running a little more smoothly too! I actually bought this layout on Friday before the event weekend haha 😆. I enjoyed your video by far. Many thanks for posting. Keep well. Regards, Caleb

Yes i would have said hi but you where busy chatting like all exhibitions you spend a lot of time talking. Im going to 7 exhibitions for the rest of the year to exhibit, june ill be in melb and june 2025 might be SA. Its a nice little layout and i enjoyed the exhibition, great layouts and a lot of people there over the weekend.

didnt get there, i was one the N set from horsham to murtoa with C and S oct 2023, was a nice ride. On the plus side the overland as been full most trips so we might see the overland longer or on more days

That's beautiful! With some kind of atmosphere effect and light it would certainly look like real life. One question, if I may: would you know how those large grass fields were done? I'm starting with dioramas and I'm looking for ways to make grass fields very similar to those. It would be for 1:500 planes, like they were in exhibition in a big park. V/Line Velocitys could handle this service so much better and cheaper, if they are allowed their top speed of 160kph Put small buffet in them. They would revolutionise the Melbourne Adelaide service as they have regional Victoria lines.

Not cheaper as they would have to put lights/booms on the 100s on xings with stop and giveway signs and upgrade the line from a fright line to run them. The overland is packed as i think its due to the price of flying and fuel. Never been on a VLocity but a N class with n set would have worked, they are so nice to ride in on a freight line.

It is amazing the size of this set...your attention to detail and scale at least to my perception is perfect. I don't think that for me It could accomidate my interest in model railroading on this scale, tooo small for my hands and patences to function but so very cool to see your set up here. Awesome!

ive seen ballast cleaners that are self contained that dump into wagons using many conveyors. this way where dump trucks reverse up to get a load of muck seems to be a good way to do it. i take it that the direct link between melbourne and adelaide is closed. for how long?

It's a video from 2014, it was closed for about a week. It's a good way to do it and this ballast cleaning is in bendigo (Epsom) and think this was the last time it worked.

T Gauge is not 1:500. It is 1:450 (or Japanese 1:480) .....

1:500 is the scale this layout is built as vr board gauge. T is the closest and that's the track and mechanics used
