RHCP are truly one of the last actual innovators in music. It’s special and RARE when a band creates a sound and style that NOBODY has ever done or heard of. People love to trash Anthony, but they wouldn’t have become who they did without Anthony. He was that wild and crazy friend they had who was lost without knowing what his purpose in life was, all while he watched his musician friends find their purpose. The smartest and greatest decision they ever made was throwing Anthony a microphone to see what came out of it. His energy was out of this world, his soul was pure love and funk, his stage presence was unmatched, and his determination to grow as an artist/performer is nothing short of astonishing. He was not meant to know how to sing like just another random normal band….it was truly a gift because what he organically produced out of his soul is what made the RHCP’s a group of legendary innovators. That young man would have never thought in his life that he would grow to be a legend with his friends that he believed would go on to be successful legends without him. Anthony and Flea were the main innovators of the never before seen style seeds that they planted and blossomed. The cosmic style mixtures of Bone Crunching Mayhem Funk, Rap, and Punk Rock made people bust their fucking nuts and leak magic rappity funky punk juice right out of their anal orifice. And that gift i mentioned about Anthony not being a singer in the beginning, not only made them actual innovators, but it also gave Anthony a world’s amount of time for improvement. Him and the MASSIVE amount of potential evolvement he had been given is how that band has the incredibly successful longevity that very few bands will ever reach. Anthony literally evolved and transformed into another level of artist/singer/performer. It led them to level up and create something amazingly fresh for every new album they did. But they were also still able to harness their Funk, Rap, and Punk rock roots, sprinkling it all over their art with those added angelic guitar/bass melodies, Anthony’s new melodic style of rapping/singing/and Frusciante’s Godly like vocal harmonies……So many bands have copied and tried to recreate or reinvent the RHCP style, but they either didn’t last very long, or they failed miserably. There will only ever be ONE Organic Anti Beatbox band….and only ONE group of Funky Monks, and that’s the Red Hot Chili Peppers 🌶️ ❤️ 🤘 🤙

His tone is beautiful. The notes he chooses and improvises are so colorful. This man inspired me to pick up guitar in 06. His work on the Stadium Arcadium album to me is a masterpiece. Learning that whole album by ear is all a person needs to know to be an efficient guitarist.
