This was when artists were really talented, they came up the hard way, paid there dues. No talent shows putting them on the fast lane.The good ones made it. The rest did not. When Morcambe and Wise were on the tv ,I would come home early from the pub to watch them. So many great memories with these guys..

There should be a channel that has old comedy only. Just found rising damp last week. Another laugh out loud. No new comedy thank you.

My daughters 2009 panda had a squealing starter motor, removed and stripped down, cleaned and a little grease/ oil in all the usual places and it's now quiet again, virtually no sign of wear and even the brushes had lots of life left in them, not bad for 125k miles.

These three along with many other entertainers after WW2 performed in variety shows in many places with maybe a handful of people in the audiences. Just like the working men's clubs this was hard work with lots of noise off stage and no warm up comedians to exercise the chuckle muscles of the audience. It's a joy to see Eric, Ernie and Des together just as they were back in the early days of their careers. Thank you to all those who still make us laugh and entertain us.

I think Des was very underrated as an entertainer. He was definitely a very talented and professional guy, also very self deprecating and humble.
@steveconn13756 ай бұрын
Des had a remarkable voice and Eric used to play his albums in his lobby but this show jokes played on des children at school they used to knock him for ages but Eric and Ernie set the record straight once when they had des as a guess on a chat show later with David frost

i have so much love for Eric and Ernie, I feel they are part of my family, my childhood Christmas' were made by their shows. I know its nostalgic and romantic, but I genuinely love them both for the laughter and joy they gifted. And thanks also to legendary writer Eddie Braben, he was the man indeed. x

I am interested in why you pulled the decompression leaver to stop the engine rather than the key.
@davidellis20216 ай бұрын
On earlier bikes like mine if ignition is cut the engine can rotate backwards as it hits the compression. This can cause the starter gear to engage which destroys the starter and gears. Later models have a torque limiter installed which should solve the problem. Also, if the engine turns backwards the distribution chain tensioner gets an abuse it is not built for, and this can destroy a spring. Safest option is to just use the decompression lever to stop the engine.

@@davidellis2021 Hey a big thanks for that mate. I often wondered why my DR 750 does that and what sort of damage might be happening. I have a 1988 model with 52000kms on the clock and in original condition apart from the muffler which rusted out. Rrplaced with a GPR muffler from Italy. Has been up on a stand for the past 10 years. Will get to ride it again when I get some time.
@davidellis20216 ай бұрын
@@philhatherell3711 After this video I completely stripped the bike and had everything shot blasted and powder coated. You can see a later video where it's all back together again. Mine's only done 30000km's but was quite rusty. Amazingly it's still on its original muffler, but I think I'll have to replace it soonish. Good luck getting yours back on the road.
