I have the original Telarc CD recording. I love the performance but hate the recording. The performance has a lyrical quality not found in other recordings I have heard. Eye opening. Unfortunately the tonal balance of the CD recording is way off. No highs to speak of. This KZbin version actually sounds better on my PC. Ripe for remastering.

Mr. Von Karajan, my favorite conductor. I love the way the make the tempo to slow in every piece he conducts, for me, the best conductor ever.

What a pity I can't watch his hands as he plays the Sonata. One of the greatest ever compositions for the piano. Curzon brings power and electricity to it... plus a fine dynamic range.

Terrible, not only too fast, but also shrill, unpleasant sound, and the initial trumpet signal is a horror, which actually already disqualifies the interpretation for me.

Absolutely amazing rendition of the ballet score in 'highlights' form by Karajan. Always did love his take on it. I own a CD of the 3 part suites - Swan Lake Sleeping Beauty Nutcracker. Great for this time of year!! Merry Christmas.

i care much more about the musical depth in prokofiev's compositions than the rather show off rendition of the LSO .. which kind of takes away from the ability to usefully study these chord structures melodic transitions and rhythmic.. modalities but alas i guess we have to put up with it .. untill someone creates a midi file..
