This game has soooo much depth to it that isn't obvious until you play it a while. Some monsters do better damage during daylight (Angels, Marmaids/Sirens...etc), others at night (Demons, Wraith...etc). Terrain affects hit and defense. Damage type and damage resistance makes a huge difference in battles. I always loved it when a computer opponent summoned some variation of wraith/dark-w/black-w because they were like training dummies for your angels, their long range damage could barely touch an angel but angel lighting caused full damage on them. Conversely, anything that did high physical damage could beat down an opponent's angel, so I'd swarm them with disposables like low level dragons or soldiers then move someone I wanted to level in for the killing blow. Great game, I spent so many hours playing it and still pull it out every few years to play a campaign.

A lot of people around where I lived always told me 7 was the best one (I had 8 9 and 10) but when I played 7 I couldn’t get into it as much but watching this play through makes me want to give it another shot

Siren(e)s are my favorite monster. They make a great bodyguard for your master, as well as attack units on other masters. I just wish they had better land movement.

I used to play this back then. Can't lie, was disappointed on how you didn't seem to know how to utilize Guan Yu. 1st off, your 1st invasion. You got Guan Yu, the God Of War...and you don't make him initiate a challenge??????? Yeah, the computer would decline but it also makes some of their troops run. Other thing was, invading and entirely leaving your original province. Why????? You could've sent Guan Yu by himself as he showed he was handling that battle on his own. Sending Guan Yu and leaving Liu Bei behind would've trapped Gongsun Zan and he wouldn't be able to retreat. Anyhow, yeah, I've played and beaten this game often back then. On another note, Cao Cao was easily the best 1 to run with. He starts with the most followers...loyal ones at that and every other month, new loyal followers joined him. That whole, trying to do everything per turn with just Liu Bei, Guan Yu and Zhang Fei was too exhausting. Too much time passes. Cao Cao on the other hand, had so many followers, gold and rice, he literally can take care of everything on every turn quickly...between developing the land, training and hiring troops to doing other things like trying to recruit other generals from other provinces. Anyhow, good look on the old school game.

@PigGoesMooProductions you're welcome fam. Oh and also, just a couple bits of advice. 1st thing, when invading, NEVER leave your province open or with no soldiers. You give the enemy a place to flee to if you leave it open. And if there are hardly any troops guarding the province, you will get attacked. I usually won't leave a province with less than 300, 400 soldiers. Usually they won't attack. If you're using Liu Bei, I always bring Guan Yu and Zhang Fei with me and also, never put Liu Bei in the forefront. Let Guan Yu and Zhang Fei do the fighting. Keep Liu Bei near them but far from the enemy. His fighting (70) isn't very good. You want him to keep as many soldiers as possible. His sworn brothers can handle the load. Other thing is, depending on who your team is, you have to know who to recruit and who to behead after a battle. Like, when you recruited Xiahou Dun from Cao Cao's team. That was the wronggggggg move. He will NEVER stay loyal to anyone but Cao Cao. You saw that 1st hand when you gave him 100 troops, brought him with you to battle Dong Zhuo and he got bribed. Always behead those that only show loyalty for 1 ruler. Xiahou Dun, Xiahou Yuan, any Caos (Cao Ang, Hong, Ren, Pi, etc), Dian Wei, Xu Zhu, Sima Yi, Xu Huang....all loyal followers of Cao Cao. Behead all of them if you're not Cao Cao. Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Zhao Yun, Zhuge Liang...all followers of Liu Bei. Behead them if you're on another team. Sun Quan, Sun Ce, any Suns...followers of Sun Jian. Kill them if you're on another team. Any Yuans from Yuan Shao. Any Dongs from Dong Zhuo. Behead them. Last but not least...ALWAYS behead Lu Bu if you capture him. He shows loyalty to no one! But I saw you did behead him when you captured him. I hope these help. For me, personally, Cao Cao was the easiest to play as. He comes with the most followers and only gets stronger literally every other month and unlike Liu Bei, you can put Cao Cao at the forefront and have him fight his own battles. He has like a 90+ War. He's the best all around leader in the game. Anyhow, just some advice I wanted to share with you.
