As someone who genuinely loves what mining can become some day and having played it back when it was a boring slog of just go break tiny quant rocks on lyria or fly to the halo and come back with only quant because that was the only option, no real challenge, no vision for just so damn long..... Better believe I was so damn pissed when they killed mining with the incompetence. But now, if they can get their sht together, get the servers feeling right, damn elevators working....we have a fighting chance at having a great solo mining experience and with them unlocking the top end of the low density materials making 90k+Aluminum rocks a possibility now, there is a great chance for them to start giving us a reason to go out multi crew mining. Anyways. As bad as it's been, this is a win we needed.

They haven't been. They have been messed up for sure based on servers but you can look at my stream history and see that I'm scanning and breaking rocks every night, you just need to learn the current workarounds. Which we will still have right now but it's only going to get better and better

Well if 31-33 was doable..I can only imagine. I can go back and search my archived footage and see, but during 3.19.1 I mostly ran mole because of how damn good it was. Easy 35k I'm sure.

Maybe wait a couple days or a week for them to get all these weirdo bug fixes out . A lot of issues with hangars and elevators hahaha but besides that... Mining feels so damn smooth, and now we have been blessed once again with modules working correctly. It's about to be damn good.

I know, I noticed after it had been uploaded to KZbin. Listen I was too excited to get it done right, I got a good amount of overcharge on both, but that was first attempt after a long time not having to manage 3 surge modules. We will get better and better and back up to our usual cracking abilities real soon. You just have to try to figure out how much power that rock wants, give it just that amount and drop power / raise power a few percent once you find it. If the server stability and instability doesn't try to bend you over....you've got it. You can do it.

First thing I did is earn the aUEC to buy a Helix for my prospector. Returning from first mining, enter hangar, Helix shoots off the Prospector straight forward, landing near the terminal. I go sell figuring I will put it back on when I get back. I return to find the prospector stored and no helix in the hangar. 4.1 will be great, but right now, the servers are freaking out.

That is hilarious. Horrible, but I would agree. I got done a little different, but done none the less. I went to hangar didn't store ship, instant storage as well, came back without a helmet on to my hangar and suffocated to death walking towards freight ele. Chris is out in full force, ANGRY at these awesome mining changes, looking to put some pain on us.

I just wish they put the mining modules for S2 heads and up (thinking about arrastra and orion down the line) inside the ship on a thing similar to a fuse box. Thinking of the Arrastra it's gonna be annoying and stupid having to eva out of a 120m ship to change something the size of a shoe (even worse planet side)...

So stoked I can stack 2 reiger 3s now. Ive been enjoying the impact on the prospector when mining in pyro. Now I can double stack reigers on there for maximum power!

The 2 Rieger C3s are working correctly at 1:36:38 - a hofstede has a maximum laser power of 3360 - with 2 functioning Rieger c3s that increases to 5250. At 20% power the maximum power becomes equal to the mass of the rock it can break at 0 resistance. so 5250 * 0.76 (accounting for the 24% resistance in the rock in the video) = 3990. The charge started increasing at 21% on the throttle which matches the calculation. In order for the charge to start going up at 15% the mass of the rock would need to be 3937 and have 0 resistance. There is margin for error here with the instability which accounts for small bursts of charge going up at 17/18% in the video. I'm not sure how to account for that accurately with the math but the numbers here work if we ignore instability The Hofstede used to have 3600 base power which, with 2 functioning Rieger C3s, would have been 5625 and would be able to move this charge up at 15%, so in the past you would have been correct. The calculation for what size mass you can break is this: (Power output/0.2) * (100-rock resistance number) So for example the hofstede with 2 functioning rieger C3s at 100% = (5250/0.2) * (100-0 [for a 0 resistance rock]) = 26,250 mass

Yes. It is easy to sit back and do the math later on watching a vod, when you aren't live and actually doing it on the fly and guestimating the numbers real quick in the moment, it felt like it wasn't getting it done, which is why we test, and luckily I sat there and got it tested both with those and the surges. Now as to what you said about power and calculations . That isn't entirely true all the time, which is again why we test and make sure everything is going the correct way in game as it says it is in the data. For instance we used to be able to break larger rocks when we shouldn't have been able to due to instability and there have been many many times you won't gain charge when you should due to servers or patches. I put a video out I believe a year ago about that math.

I typed most of it right around the timestamp I posted where you said the double rieger c3s were not working but you tested and corrected yourself on that later. I understand the math is not the end all be all because it's not possible to account for instability within the math to my knowledge. You do you brother, I enjoyed the video and just wanted to help point out an error that you later identified on your own but was too busy with work to go back and remove my unnecessary comment

I wanted to point out it takes a long time doing something to get the feel, the intuition on something and with each patch gaslighting us and throwing away knowledge or adding new knowledge about how things work NOW it takes a lot of misses to start landing on the bullseye everytime. I know once the refinery ships and they get this ball rolling with pyro and nyx there will be a ton of multi crew mining going on. As for an org. There may or may not a secret shell Company operating on the RSI website. Discord is the best way to be around like minded miners and industrialists though 530+ strong.

Mining mode is broken from pilot seat until the next patch comes. But the mfd works aside from showing the rocks mass.
