I think this is maybe the same thing that happened to me. I used to play thousands of hours to this Gameboy masterpiece, but i got frustrated because i cannot complete it because the game at certain point requires you to jump to the other side of a broken bridge, but i cannot do this because you needed a wing boost bonus that makes the character flying longer. At that time i can't understand English language, so i missed the clue that an NPC into a village gives to you where he says where to find this boost. In fact this item is hidden underneath an huge tree into the overworld map😅. I realized this only few years later, and this discover made me feel the most happy kid on the planet because it allowed me to unlock next chapters and complete the whole game😂😂
