I thought it was fine, but definitely not a favorite either. Yay for a little unhaul, I am also always happy to get rid of books that don't spark that joy. Haha, when you were talking about going to class when it's raining, it kinda reminded me of my students who complain they have to come to class when the weather is bad, and then don't go to class when the weather is nice because the weather is so nice. xD Student struggles. I really loved Annihilation because it is so weird, and I love weird horror. And the sequels follow different characters, and I don't think you would like those better. :D However, you learn a lot more about what's going on in those books, so they are still continuations, and maybe even this MC might appear again? This is definitely the vlog of "this book is just not what I expected". What the hell with the KZbin email??? I am so sorry you had to go through this.

Ok, this already happened in the last vlog, and I didn't want to say anything, because editing can be annoying, but also in this video the music is not where it's supposed to be. xD It starts when you're still talking and then ends in the middle of the b roll. Maybe that's something your software does? Just thought I'd let you know. :)

I really enjoyed the Familiar, especially the end, however, I do seem to be in the minority there. I hope you can brighten up your fall a bit with these reads. I definitely like fall, but going into winter is the hard part for me. Then I just wait for summer to come back around. (And honestly summer is just way more fun when you don't have to work all the time... but when it is this hot and I am supposed to work, it does get old fast unfortunately.)

I would still highly recommend Nickel Boys and Underground Railroad, if you wanna be emotionally destroyed. :D They are just on a whole different level. that's fair about the teenage chapters of 7 Days since you weren't expecting that. I tend to like seeing the previous time a couple was together in second chance romances, so I loved it. That said, I believe the teenage chapters do stop about halfway through and it does just focus on the current timeline, but totally get DNFing it if you weren't enjoying!

Yay for Hobb! Just finished the Liveship Traders series, and she is such a master of fantasy. :) Hope you enjoy the rest of Farseer and happy reading in August!

I don't think you have to finish a certain amount of books to end the vlog. :) I really enjoyed this. I am currently finishing my 6th book by Robin Hobb, and I think Assassin's Apprentice is still my favorite, which I never expected going into the Realm of the Elderlings. :D I love this world a lot, hope you enjoy reading the series!
