I can’t thank you enough, this is exactly what I needed. I’ve been stuck as a beginner without making much progress because I couldn’t wrap my head around sentence structure. I especially appreciate learning more about the actual Japanese way to understand Japanese grammar. I’m excited to watch the rest of your videos!

I don't comment often, but your video just screams quality! Too many Anki videos take too much time, or don't give you enough info about actually using the program, and the hotkeys are just the icing on the cake. Not to mention the good editing! Please don't stop making videos, cus you're great for first-timers to learning Japanese!

I just want something like Iago or Migaku to stop working with Chrome and just be built in Firefox. I haven't used Chrome in the last 5 years, unless I ran across a website that straight up states "we only work with chrome or edge". I hate using Chrome, it's a massive RAM eating issue, and the whole adblocker nonsense is just another reason not to use it. Why oh why do tools for learners insist on using Chrome when Firefox exists. I don't get it. It used to be a "Firefox couldn't because XYZ" but now Firefox CAN and Iago still has 0 support. Make it make sense.

Can’t justify the $10 month price tag when I can use the JPDB breader for free
@JouzuJuls
@JouzuJuls Күн бұрын
The $10 would be going to the fact that Migaku can identify the sentences with singular unique unknown words and target those for mining without you having to manually choose each word. Thus being able to mining in the most efficient way possible while being able to track your progress with each piece of media. This is something that JPDB cannot do, and again, as stated in the video, *automatic batch mining* is the purpose of Migaku. Not to mention Migaku works on text sites as well which JPDB does not.

can someone please explain to me why きれいくで is wrong? is it because its at the end of the sentence instead of the beginning?

This playlist should have everything in it: kzbin.info/aero/PLAaPL96Q8dWHx4H0WxdXLZlu7-DdbszsV The QR codes worked when I uploaded the video, not sure what happened. Probably related to the service I used to generate the codes, weird.

@@JouzuJuls idk, maybe it's not your qr codes, I'm on mobile so I had to screen shot them and then tried to scan them with several websites but none of them recognized the code, so I'm not sure. Thank you very much for the link though! This video was super helpful!

why 2.1.49? is there something special about it (btw you're my favorite japanese language youtuber~~)
@JouzuJuls
@JouzuJuls 3 күн бұрын
As of the making of this video, that version was needed for a bunch of other plugins to work together. Even today as I'm responding to you know, 2.1.49 is very stable and works with every useful plugin. The new version works but some of the plugins are bugged. There are advantages to the new version too, so if you don't care about plugins- you can keep using the latest version.

I don't see the point in creating such a huge amount of cards. There will be too many to repeat and you will be overloaded. It's better to use free solutions and for that money take lessons with a teacher.

未然形 isn’t quite flawed - 未然形 historically ended in ア段 for 五段 verbs regardless - including in front of the auxiliary verb う. 飲もう was written 飲まう, 行こう was written 行かう, 使おう was 使はう (from 使ふ, cf. 使ひます, 使はない, 使へば), etc. Tangentially, ましょう used to be ませう (未然形 like in ません, ませぬ). However, due to pronunciation drift and orthographic reform, from the late Meiji era until the end of WWII, Japan embarked on an orthographic reform that essentially made the spellings reflect their current pronunciations as opposed to their historical ones. But - other than that point - this video is a must-see for ALL English speaking learners of Japanese. *This* is the real deal.
@JouzuJuls
@JouzuJuls 4 күн бұрын
Exactly, it worked historically, but not anymore. The problem with traditional Japanese linguistics is that- while the language has evolved, the linguistics did not. This is why people still try to brute force 未然形 into modern Japanese despite it making no sense until you look at old Japanese that is no longer used. Imagine if we taught English in a nonsensical way that could only be understood upon reading Shakespeare 🤔 This is what I mean by flawed 👍
