What about nutrition level of grass cured on the stem? Louisiana where I am is so humid and receives so much rain that a lot of the nutrients leach out of the forage if left standing on the field. Is there a particular forage that would hold better in those conditions?

Add a chicken tractor 3 days behind cattle, and your pest management is fixed, and cow pies are spread by the chickens, and the soil will be richer faster.

This is a great improvement, giving cattle freedom to graze naturally over the year is a win for the animals, ranchers, and the increase of soil carbon, fertility, and rain retention, as well as for consumers.

exploiting animals for milk, eggs, meat, butter, leather... on this industrial level causes a huge karma on human species. We can be heathy with fruits, vegetables, nuts, cereals, water. Usd is all that is on humans minds. Poor souls, greedy humans

Your Karma is pushed by big Pharma and the Bankers that own them oy vey. Yes the people that want you sick. You can have your diabetes and heart problems and anemia from sugar and grain not to mention the gender bending hormone disrupting soy. The same people own the media and can easily insert the self loathing based Peta Animal rights garbage into the nature ignorant urban mind. Similar to the kidnapped little girl suffering from Stockholm syndrome outside influenced and clueless about it. Husbandry is science and nature as one, common sense. Any real anthropologist can tell you that man developed his big brain after he stood up and began eating high protein nutrient dense MEAT.

Without grazing ruminants grasslands must be burnt in order for new growth to come up. For every acre burnt produces as much (really moee) polution then 6000 cars. Just africa burns over a million acres a year. We can not stop desertification without increasing cattle herds. Nevermind the methane nonsence methane is absorbed by helpful bacteria in healthy soil. Nobody is making you eat meat. You vegitarian types are worse then televangalists. I would die happily choking on a t-bone if it will piss people like you off.

Why were you watching a video on grazing management? Just so you can leave an asshole comment trying to push your wacko philosophy? Nobody cares.

Go to Joseph Mercola’s website and look up the slaughter of 40,000 elephants by policies put in place by people of your mindset that large herbivores were destroying the land and creating desertification. In actuality the opposite had been found to be true. Mimic nature as it has been done for years and the animals, properly managed, will improve the soil, consistently sequester carbon ( see university of California UCDavis) and capture rainwater better to resist drought. Eat your tofu and ingest 10 to 20 fold the GMO’s and glyphosate than I will from my pasture grazed animal and show me how your doing ten years from now. My first animal, for daily consumption and half sold to a coworker, is delicious, aged 21 days and very tender and likely loaded with a balanced healthy ratio of omega 3 to 6 ratio and likely to have a ten fold or greater CLA content. I feel good knowing what I am providing my children. Be objective and look up the dark side of soy consumption. Do not cherry pick the info that validates your worldview but be truly objective. Try to mimic grazing habitats as practiced by the Mega Fauna that one roamed our prairie and it’s a win win for all.
