Both chlorthalidone and HCTZ are 1+ re anticholinergic activity, however, chlorthalidone has a much longer half life and therefore I would anticipate higher anticholinefgic effects. This can negatively affect cognition in elderly patients. I hope there are future trials comparing these two medications with respect to cognitive effects in patients. Also are either of these medications preferable in this regard.

The Atria score has no percent. It can't be used in entering the Atria and Garfield risk on the main page. Atria is 6, not a percent. Garfield is less than 1%. One is "intermediate risk" (Atria) and one is very low risk (Garfield). What do i do with that in the calculator? The only risk factors are age and female gender. Confusing.

When you say High LDL Cholesterol "or" Familial Hypercholesterolemia do you mean that these are the same thing? Or do you mean that one can have FH and, taking no medications, have LDL of 125 or 130 at age 45-50, OR would LDLs at that age need to be 170 or so to diagnose FH?
