Thinking about importing one of these man. The one I'm looking at is a completely unadulterated '94 CR22S Turbo i.e. with about 100k kms on it. Was wondering if AWD would be better, but you're right about the weight savings and less things to go wrong. Just wondering - how reliable are these things in general? Also what do you think the first thing I should do when I pick it up from the port? Get all the fluids changed?
@hoogiesimports20 күн бұрын
@@jordansernik of course! All the basics should be done! The F6A and K6A engines are known for their reliability, more so the F6A on the earlier gens and drivetrain maintenance parts are plentiful. I definitely wouldn’t have a problem with going for an AWD one, especially if it’s necessary in your region! Here in NC having AWD really wouldn’t make a difference, so it wasn’t a dealbreaker for me. All in all they’re great little rides as well as the Daihatsu Mira for that matter :)

@@hoogiesimports right, I'm not fun. And do you really want to do auto diagnostics with me? Could be the fuel pump could be the injectors, could be the ignition could be the timing could be the throttle body, could be anything really. But it definitely is having trouble starting.

This GC looks like it's in pristine condition, it's almost surprising not to see any rust on the quarter panels! I actually used to own a 1995 WRX (V2) which still came with the EJ20G and the car was an absolute blast to drive, and like you said, when the turbo kicks in it really hits. The only downside to anything with the EJ20G is that sourcing parts for the engine is a massive pain.

I’m looking at getting a Cap this year. I like the Beat as well but the Cap just speaks to me. My one worry is finding parts for it. What’s your opinion of this since it doesn’t share any parts of US made cars? Do you hav e to import parts as well? Thanks!!
