20th anniversary to one of my favourite sims games sims2 best on PC played on for so many hours

My childhood

I remember playing this back in elementary school. My aunt came over to stay for a few days, when she left. She forgot her sims 2 double deluxe and i had mom call her to tell her she left it. I was told i could keep it as she saw me enjoying the game a whole lot. I miss my aunt sometimes (She passed away from cancer when i was 14) i play it from time to time in memory of her letting me keep the game.

I love the twinkling sound that plays during the EA logo so much.

As a Sims 1 Simmer, I imagine the most thrilling part of the trailer for the people playing in 2004 was the birthday.

Idk why but my dad thinks The Sims 2 is a outrageous game and isn't okay for kids. I told him about all the weird things you're able to do in the game and that it's rated T but for some reason he thinks it's too weird. But i like The Sims 2 cuz it's so weird! I take it as a joke...

I showed my sisters the Sims 2 intro and told them excitingly that they could download Sims 2 with all expansion. I thought they would be happy about it. But they told me that they have moved on with their life's. They got kids, families, friends, jobs and all that. The comment wasn't meant to hurt me and I don't even think they realised it did. I guess I'm just the only one without kids or a future. My life feels stuck. And I'm just doing the same things I've been doing since I was a kid, as it gives me some level of comfort and joy of a happier time. 😢

if only life was as fun as the sims

My parents never bought us games, so my brother cracked the Sims 2 for us, with Nightlife! I loved it to death. My favourite sim was a single Vampire that I made super rich and happy. Still think of him sometimes!

It's the first time in years I see and listen this. I can't describe the emotions I got from watching it all again. Childlike joy and the huge promise of hours and days of unfiltered fun. I swear I almost cry of joy, even though i don't have this gorgeous game installed in my current pc. Saying it was an emotional re-encounter is not doing it justice, this game embodies and has embodied happiness even through the darkest times of my life. (Along The Sims 1). 💙 I wish the makers of this game and those of The Sims 1 know they're cherished for giving us these masterful gifts.

Man, I love this intro so much. It just sends me back to being a 9 year old kid, waiting to play the game on my windows xp computer with that big monitor. Also RIP SimsTR, learned so much about the game from that site.

wow the nostalgia is great... however the Sims 2 were ugly as hell hahaha, they did not age well
