Thanks for this video! I’m trying to figure out how deep the begonia is supposed to be planted. Like should the base be fully under the soil? Or the top even with the surface? Another way? I got one that has dirt pretty high in the container and looks like it was dumped. There are unfortunately roots EVERYWHERE and the soil is really soggy. I tried to break it up a little just to get some perlite in there, but got nervous. Definitely seems like it was sitting in water at the store. Squeezing the pot makes it drip. The last video I opened before this, the lady pulled them out of their containers, ripped the bottom half off and, swished a hole up the middle under the plant, and potted them together in a big pot with way too much soil. I gasped a little. The whole video was rough. Seemed like she just has them as seasonal decoration. Treating them like that, they prob are! Anyways, I’ll keep looking. There are like 7 little fuzzy nubs poking up through the dirt. It’s so soggy I wanted to check for soggy/rotting roots, but I’m not sure how, with spiderweb-like roots. They snap so easily. This is my first begonia. I’ve seen many other creators talk about them, but it was 2$ at Walmart so I figured it’d give it a shot! It has 3 leaves. One has a crispy section between a bifurcated center vein. Def seems like it grew that way, not damaged after. Kinda odd. The other 2 look healthy tho. Thanks for all the info!

as for the timing, my personal opinion and take is that for most people who rely heavily on natural light from outside the window would need to wait until early spring, cause these plants usually do have a very visible growth-dormancy cycle. For some people who provide growth light and maintain temperature, i think its not that necessary cause the conditions are relatively stable throughout the year.

I just bought a Alocasia poly. It felt dry so I watered it. I've noticed that the leaves are dripping water. What did I do wrong?

I think my rattlesnake plant has completely died from overwatering once by mistake. No leaves on top, last leaf dying. I checked the roots but no root rot. Is there a way to revive this or should I give up? If I water less and wait will it get new leaves over time?

I would highly recommend taking the silver blush out of terracotta. Anthuriums don't do well in those pots
@cynd-al24 күн бұрын
the second plant you showed is not huernia zebrina it’s actually a stapelia probably stapelia gigantea! and the variegated one might actually be a huernia but i’m not positive

You're back!!! 🎉 In my case, I'm still into plants but in a veeeery chill way (not as obsessive as a year ago... I have like 10 😋 and I think right now my fixation is booktube... reading just for fun, avoiding serious stuff😅). Oh, and I used to enjoy your chill vlogs... it was great when I needed some motivation to clean or tide my surroundings xD

Hi, I usually mix the neem oil and soap together first... it makes a real disgusting yellow sludge, then put it in the water. :) But it mixes with the water better. Bless.

Go to a grow supply store and buy a 16” nursery pot it will be less than $10 then you can buy a basket to cover the pot or buy some fabric and sew a cute slouchy sack to cover it with a cuff on top. You are allowed to put a new battery in your smoke alarm, if you don’t do it yourself, and they send maintenance to do it, they will most likely charge you by the hour and they only bill for one hour minimum.it’s the equivalent of changing a light bulb.
@GoodandPlanty27 күн бұрын
cool idea!! i also would change the battery but unfortunately the alarm is not in my apartment lol

yes I was going to say this too! 🫶 ceramic, plastic, or honestly a self-watering pot (like the one the calathea ornata is in) would be the way to go!!
