Wonderful thou im slightly irritated that Christopher Franke's wonderful Babylon 5 theme interspersed throughout didn't seem to get a credit!

If you ever get a chance to see an orchestra play the sound track live to a movie, especially Star Wars, it’s well work the experience. You will not regret it. I took my family to see The Empire Strikes Back with Phenix, Arizona, orchestra, Amazing!

The London. A very high ranking candidate for the most ugly ship design in sci fi history. For years I thought it had actually been built out of Lego. Seeing it in higher picture quality nowadays hardly improves the impression it left on me then. What a shed! 😂

Here's to Maurice Murphy He joined the London Symphony Orchestra in 1977 as Principal Trumpet and his first assignment was to play that opening high E blare that we all have come to love. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maurice_Murphy_(musician)

I remember Darrow saying that in his role as Avon, he tried to channel his inner "Robert Vaughn", and I can see a lot of that in just about everything I saw him in.

Good actor, played one of the greatest characters on tv sci fi, and an absolutely lovely man in real, life. Had the pleasure of meeting him after a performance of Guards! Guards!" And he was kind enough to give up a fair bit of time talking to some of his fans and the stray yank tagging along with them.

He would've made a first rate Sherlock Holmes. Excellent in the Dorothy L. Sayers tv adaptation of Murder Must Advertise and, of course, at the top of his game as Kerr Avon in Blake's 7. R. I. P. Paul Darrow.

A fair comment, but it was Paul's favourite Rock Star and he loved playing him on stage. Also, 'Devil in Disguise' could apply to many characters from Blake's 7.

I cannot imagine my life without Blakes 7 and the character Avon in the early 80s. To me, everything was Blakes 7 and to a slightly lesser extent, Doctor Who and Star Wars. Recently, I saw an interview of Paul Darrow being interviewed and he mentioned that he was a big Humphrey Bogart fan. If you watch Paul playing Avon you can see a bit of Humphrey Bogart in him. It's subtle but it's there.

It pisses me off that he's dead. Blake's 7 was a terrific show and it was Darrow's character, brilliantly written and wonderfully acted, that made it.

Pacey was pretty good in Blake 7. He's so much more than just good looks which he must have got sick of people asserting its his main attribute. I liked the fact he would challenge Avon. For me the 4th series was the weaker

When I was still at school at 15, my first part time job which led to a full time job after I left school was at a model making company. My work bench alot of the time consisted of the Liberator control desk with various other props stacked around it, it was being stored. I remember my colleague purchased it off the company to install in his house after it was effectively finished with, that was a long time ago....fun times

The voice was timeless. Darrow looked good and fitted Avon like an inter-galactic glove. Blake's 7 was a master class in British sci-fi. Never again shall we see an actor play a part that was so ruthless, had all the best lines, and looked terrific in leathers. Yep, Paul Darrow had it all. Lucky bastard. God rest your soul....
