Arrow crabs are cool, I collect my own here in south Florida, I'll get 1 male & a harem of 3 or 4 females. He'll mate them all, but I've never been unable to produce any young.

Must be amazing to just go to the beach and collect your own.
@stevenhall9009Ай бұрын
@@madshepsreef282 I took a road trip from where I grew up in Southern Illinois to Key West, Florida for vacation & to collect for my aquarium in 1987, & moved down permanently in 1991. I'm not a certified diver I only snorkel from off the beach, I have certain spots where I know I can find certain specimens. The Palm Beach area I collect mated pairs of arrow crabs & coral banded shrimp & various other things. In the upper Florida keys I collect watchman gobies & pistol shrimp. Around Key West I collect jaw fish, angels and a little bit of everything else. I do really enjoy going out & collecting, Good luck with your arrow crab, and find out if you have a male or female & get it a mate👍🏾

Your tank looks awesome and I love your queen angel. A year ago in May I collected what I thought was a juvenile Queen angel in Key West, Florida. Now that it's grown to about the size of my outspread hand it's become apparent that I have a Blue Angel.

How has he been against algae after 2 years and how has he been towards corals. Do you have only soft corals or mixed? Been thinking of getting one for algae control but scared of mixed reef, more lps than softies. Curious what your opinion is after 2 years
@madshepsreef282 Жыл бұрын
Absolutely brilliant at eating algae, I only have soft coral as I’ve got 6 angel fish and they like to peck at the corals. But the soft corals can take the nipping but other corals I believe would die.

Iv still got to do an ICP test that I’m picking up this weekend, then I’ll send it off to see. But everything seems the same really with the coral anyway. only thing Iv really noticed is the amount of life that’s going on in the refuge loads of Copepods and I mean loads.

What I am about to tell you is gonna creep you out but what you have in that bin actually eats crabs and other things in a manner similar to that "thing" in the movie *LIFE*. It's very disturbing to watch. It's called a polyclad flatworm. Just search it here on KZbin and the very 1st video that comes up should be* *marine flatworm hunts down crab!* 🦀. ....Like I said, very disturbing

You will never stop the gyre noise, it’s worse when ramping down with no direct current to the motors than when they are running with current to them, hopefully newer generations to come will get better, but you wasting time and money trying to quieten down the gyres of today they are all quite noisy and time consuming to clean and reassemble correctly first time, nice aquarium stand though looks like a nice build :)

How have you got on with these long term pal? Looking into getting a twin pack but the reviews are very mixed. Would you recommend a purchase?
@madshepsreef2823 жыл бұрын
To be honest it’s a really good pump and I would get one, but on my one I had to keep replacing the motor bushes every yew weeks because they wore out and I had to keep changing them because of the noise. But good news there are now new motor bushes which I installed a few days ago and all seems well with the noise factor. I will be making another video in a few weeks to review theses new designed bushes compared to the old style bushes.

it’s a hydor 12,000 return pump. with the pellets it will take time for them to start to kick in could be talking a few months.what you need is rowa phos in a fluidised reator to help bring your phosphates down.
