Cool video.. Thanks for sharing... From all the fujifilm recipes you've tried, in your opinion which one is best suited for taking portraits /people photos.. Merci

I would day Portra 400 is the best for taking portraits but I do like using Kodachrome 64 though

Well this video made me cry like a baby! Tom you have absolutely made the best step for you and your family, and you are a huge asset. The videos you created for us for our wedding were exceptional, and any couple will be lucky to have you (and Alice) filming and piecing together their weddings. All the very best for a hugely successful career :) Laura and Daniel

I own an XT4 since it came out and now I am wondering if to upgrade to XT5 but I do only pictures. If you want to take videos I would have choose the XT5 or for save money the XS20 with better AF especially for video. You will find XT4 AF in video not very reliable…
@tomjugginsuk4 ай бұрын
Yea I do really want the XT5, I also prefer the tilted screen. I'm curious though why you say the XT4 AF is not reliable in video, I've found it to be fine when I'm filming weddings
@MRoccoPhotography4 ай бұрын
@@tomjugginsuk I prefer the tilt screen as well..XT4 af is not bad but the new generation is much better and more in line with other brands. Just try an XT5 and you will tell me then..

The weather has been cold and gray the entire month of April, Reggie's Portra is a great all rounder recipe. I find many recipes are suited to a very particular lighting situation, but Reggie's works well nearly all the time. Another one i like is Earthy Neg by Tudor Mateescu.

Yea April has been very grey. I really liked how this recipe looked inside when I took photos in the coffee shop. I think I've heard of Earthy Neg and will give it a try!

Hi Tom, Thanks for an interesting video and for sharing the K64 film simulation. I liked a couple of shots that looked a bit bleached out in the sunshine so will use your settings and have a dabble with them to see if I can emphasise that even more on selected photos. Many thanks.

Very nice colour. I love Fuji. The most fun I ever had with a camera was with my old Olympus OMD E10, but you can't beat Fuji for beautiful results and range of creativity. I love my XT2 and often use bracket film simulation, with two different colour simulations plus Acros, for the fun of seeing the difference. Unfortunately, you can't bracket recipes, but I'll definitely try this one on its own.
@tomjugginsuk7 ай бұрын
Thank you, same here. I'll have to try bracketing two different colour simulations, I haven't don't that yet!

Fuji cameras are quite amazing, Just fun to shoot with and to play with different looks and "recipes." I would say that amongst digital cameras, the Fujis really nail that older film look. Not everyone's cup of tea, but as an old film shooter, I love it.

That's why I'm really enjoying shooting JPEGs is because the different recipes are fun to shoot. Thank you for commenting!

Thank you so much for commenting and I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I did my first wedding 2022 and just started offering videography packages quite cheap to try and get my first few bookings. I did about 6 in 2022 and the raised my prices slightly for 2023 but still was under about 1k per wedding. I was mostly posting in Facebook groups and trying grow on Instagram. We were getting married at the time and my wife was in lots of bride Facebook groups so she would tag my whenever someone was looking for a videographer. This helped get my name out there and got me a few bookings.

A real ‘Trip’ down memory lane for me…… I grew up in Cambridge and Cottenham and now have family in Ely so know it fairly well. I also worked in Reprographics in Cambridge in the 80s, where the Trip was the standard go to camera. Such a great camera……pin sharp every time and easy to use, and Ely is such a photogenic place. A perfect combination for a first time film user. May I suggest Stretham Old Engine, or the Fens in early morning mist or snow (or both) if you get the chance.

I'm so glad you liked the video, it's a great camera and fun to use. I always drive through Stretham, but never been to the Old Engine so I will check it out! I did spot some early morning mist as I was driving yesterday but didn't have my camera, I feel like this time of year is great for some early mist.
