Beautiful birds. I want to frizzle my Serama’s but my only frizzled roo is a Silky Frizzle, he seems so much larger than my Serama hen I’m afraid he will hut her when trying to mate. Is that a thing, if you know??

It doesn't appear the person responded, but Seramas are easy to find, I have had several hundred in my lifetime, just do a Google search and all sorts of people will come up as breeders. Many people will ship them. Where I lived [Western Oregon]. I just bought them off of the local Craigslist. Buying local is always best, to save shipping costs, save stress on the chickens, and to be able to see them first and choose your favorites, but, buying local won't be an option everywhere.

Of all my chickens I dislike my Silke/bantam mix. Eggs are small. The rooster is loud and aggressive. I think they are ugly. My favorite is my americanua. She is a good cold hearty bird with a decent temperament. Also smart enough to avoid Predators. Wish I never bought those stupid Silkes

Our silkies are the best bruters. We have about 20. They refuse to leave the eggs. We have had about 10-12 birds born here in about 7 months. They also teach them to go into the coop at night. We put Rhode Island, leghorns etc under them and we get new birds. Very cool.

I've hatched shipped seramas and the instructions I have from the breeder have been successful for me. No turning fir the first 4 days in the incubator then turner on turning every hour and the humidity at 50% always.

Congrats on the hatches.they are so tiny and cute. Ive been lucky I guess, I live in phoenix az and hatched 2 sets of serama's shipped eggs. 7 of 12 the first bach and 4 of 12 the second. I have an auto turner in my incubater and it rotates sevral times a day and I kept the humidity at 50-60% till the last week then bumped it to 70 -75%. 99.5 to 100 deg. I let the eggs sit at room temp for at least 24hrs when I receive them. I think my hatch rate would have been 2 better on both hatches but I got impatient and tried to help a couple out of the egg. I shouldn't have done that. I sold my 1st batch and my 2nd batch of 4 are 8 weeks old now. 1 obvious rooster 3 possible hens. Great vids. Love your channel.

It was good to hear from someone in Phoenix, I'm in S.W N.M. and keep my humidity at the same rate as yours. I've been hatching large fowl successfully but just yesterday ordered Serama eggs out of Texas. I never knew of them but once I checked them out I just had to have them! I'm happy to hear of your successful hatches as it gives me lots of hope 😊. Keep up the good work and God bless!!!

I had a Bantom named Tinsley and she had one broken leg and she was loved by all four of our roosters her so at the end of the day she come back with her millions of feathers sticking out of her like she’s been blasted by something I don’t know laser she disapered😢😢😢😢😢 we never saw her again

Love your birds! I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I think your are dealing with pumpkin, not chocolate. I went through the same thing with my seramas.

That solid chick, I hatched one similar. Her mom was splash, with the pumpkin gene. And her dad was a pumpkin Wheaton (serama people call them butterscotch) I thought she was chocolate for months.

@@Aussie0624 DARN! I was hoping for a chocolate chick. I just hatched one that I'm sure it's chocolate. It came from Kip Wilcox and the egg was labeled Dark Chocolate. We'll see how that one turns out!
