It wasn't the hill in the road. It was the front control arm on the suspension SPONTANEOUSLY failed, almost like the axel broke. Saw this happen to a car once right in front of me. EXACTLY same sound, same collapse, the engine hitting the ground. almost like the left wheel came off the car.. Look at the right front tire all scrunched up, if it were teetering that wheel would be extended down.
