I have no idea why it's working for me...Just wanted to share because it did start working this way...when i do nothing it crashes every single time, if i do this very simple thing it loads which makes zero sense to me. Which platform are you on? I'm running it on Xbox series x.

@@EyesofOd Or just explain that, and mention any notable differences. ACG tends to review games on multiple platforms a lot and does a great job of laying out platform related differences and/or quirks. It's generally graphics, performance, and in game options where differences between platforms are most notable, but of course there are all sorts of various exceptions to that.

Liked and subscribed. I was wondering if I should get Evil Within 1 & 2 for a $7 bundle. (short answer, yes), when I stumbled on your channel. You give good, honest, spoiler-free review, dude, so props! Pro-tip, your audio channel is very bass-heavy. I had to turn off my sound system and run audio through my TV speakers in order not to rattle my kittehs. Not optimal. You might want to turn down the bass, or up the vocal/mid-range. Just a thought.

@EyesofOd
@EyesofOd 8 күн бұрын
When I tried playing it I ran into bugs which made it impossible to complete. I don't remember exactly as it's been some years since it happened, but basically there is a cutscene that is supposed to trigger at some point and it can be bugged (doesnt trigger, you just get stuck in the room and cannot progress). Unfortunately if it is bugged, even loading to a previous save does not fix the bug and you need to start the game over. Both times I tried to play it, I encountered this game breaking bug making it impossible for me to finish (this doesn't mean everyone who plays will encounter the issue, but it is present and in my case happened both times making it impossible to progress)

I just can't understand why they got rid of puzzles. If you couldn't solve them in los 1 you had a scroll that gave you the answer. The titans and puzzles were just so awesome in los 1. The puzzles rooms looked graphically great. Very intricate. Just made the space between combat much more enjoyable and a lot less repetitive. They had some of the best puzzles in any combat game I've played. Really brought down the game not having any puzzles imo. All your looking forward to is combat because exploring is boring, but even combat gets old when that the only thing you're doing. Also, the environment design in general is so so so much better in los 1. I love los 2s camera, how it zooms out during combat, and I love the graphics, but I just can't understand why they got rid of so man y good things from los 1. Also, there is no x, y combo, making the transition from light attack to heavy attack slow as hell. They also got rid of some awesome moves for the whip that were in los 1. I can't understand why. The whip is used to gather focus for the magic weapons so it should have a good amount of combos but instead it just doesn't. They could've copy and pasted the moves from los 1 onto los 2 but instead they just downgraded the whip and made x, y transition slow as hell. The whip is overall alot less fun to use than in the first 1. Alot of things they either just got rid of completely or changed just didn't make sense. This game should've been an upgraded version of los 1, but instead they did something that I cant even understand. I mean, other than what I said, the game is great. I just can NOT understand why they got rid of so many things or just completely changed them instead of upgrading them. I mean los 2 is also much shorter than los 1. You get about 35 hours of gameplay out of los 1. That's impressive for it's time. You get about 15hrs of gameplay from los 2.... wtf? That's not even impressive for 2010. I just don't know what happened to the game. It could've been so perfect. So awesome, but instead when I play it I feel let down. Especially coming from los 1. I'm just in complete awe everytime I play los 1. I just can't understand how los 2 failed so hard. Los 1 was so good, but it was misunderstood by people who didn't understand the combat or didn't realize that scrolls gave you the answer to puzzles. People also saw it as a gow clone even though if you play the game, the combat is completely different. It just happens to be a hack n slash game. Castlevania los 1 was misunderstood whilst los 2 is just a disappointment. Every time I pick up los 2, I just see what it could've been and then I go back to los 1. I really hope that it gets a remake or a brand new game on a different timeline or what not. The series deserves one after los 2 being such a fail. I don't understand how it got so ruined.

Good review. I like that you avoided spoilers and you tackled most of the questions I had about this game. Only thing I would say is maybe the video was a bit long and you could maybe truncate some parts and be more concise in the script.

This game is amazing but it has some major flaws because during the whole game I felt like it was just a running simulator as the combat was less satisfying because once you get the hang of it, it’s too easy to run away and block with no penaltys And I feel like the game should not have been split up into different characters as Arthur’s story was the most interesting and all focus should have been on his

there are a lot of games i can't get into even if they're rated highly or look amazing, like Horizon Zero Dawn that my brother kept pestering me to play, because i just can't get into their worlds & stories. then there are games that i'm instantly hooked on & We Happy Few is one such game. i absolutely adore everything about it (that baby & burden on Sally i'm deliberately ignoring). i would love to get a sequel because i wanna know if Arthur ever did end up in Germany & what became of his brother. i know the game doesn't need a sequel, but i just want more of that world & Arthur as a character. controls feel stiff? well don't play with a controller lol problem solved. as for the bugs there were quite a few of them when the game was still new, but you saying you encountered a few playing recently surprises me because i can't remember the last time i encountered any and i replay the game every year or so. are you not playing it on PC? as for not connecting with Arthur i also find surprising. you can really feel the sadness, regret, hopelessness and frustration in his voice whenever he speaks. i love his voice actor and the character he's portraying and always feel sad when i finish his part of the story and have to move on to others. this game really isn't for everyone. you gotta love british humour and style to really appreciate what they were going for. i for one live on british comedy so We Happy Few was the right kind of game for me from the start and i don't regret them taking it into this direction (since it went through a few changes prior to release).

@EyesofOd 19 күн бұрын
I was playing this one on console so controller is the option (although, I've never really liked these kinds of games on computer which is why I played it on console - just a personal preference) Not connecting with arthur is going to be totally different from player to player. Personally I felt like I connected better with basically every other character in the game...again this is going to be unique to the individual. I don't know why, but for some reason he just felt flat to me. I get what you mean with sadness etc. but for some reason I just felt more aggravation than empathy towards him (this shouldn't be used to judge the game...this is just how I felt and others are going to feel differently). When I played through it was years after release....it was full of bugs during my experience. Not sure what else to say on that, if it's not buggy for you that's great and it might not be for everyone but it was for me. I usually try to edge on the side of the game when it comes to bugs and if there are relatively few I won't really emphasize it at all. If I bring it up in a review it means I ran into bugs regularly during sessions. I usually only play grand strategy, simulation, or games I want to mod like crazy on pc because I just prefer the console experience for most rpg or fps games (the exception being things like skyrim/fallout which I load with hundreds of mods and would melt my console if I tried to use it). That said, I use a relative experience when comparing how "buggy" a game is, so most games on console you run into something occasionally...if I'm bringing it up it's because I ran into something regularly. Therefore relative to other games on the same platform it was bug prone during my experience. In the end, I always say that not every game is for everyone, and the entire point of my channel is to connect people with games they haven't seen/experienced but would love (even if personally I don't like the game at all). When I give my own opinions at the end it's all just for fun and not done to persuade people to like or not like a game, because I think that is ridiculous. People should enjoy what they want. Thanks for taking the time to comment! Definitely appreciate hearing your feedback

@EyesofOd
@EyesofOd 20 күн бұрын
Sorry you had a bad experience with it. If you ever go back to it I would suggest looking up a hacking tutorial or something...it's actually not very tough at all, maybe you just needed to see how to do it and then you could do it with ease? Enemies basically always follow a set routine, so if you're planning to do stealth it's a good idea to wait a moment or two to watch what they are doing before engaging. Once you have an idea of their routine it's not too hard to take them out. If you just charge in the difficulty can be very high though. It's a slower pace that you need to approach it at in. As for map and controls, that's completely personal. The map is smaller than many newer releases, but I personally thought it was pretty good. The controls I can agree to some extent, I didn't enjoy them at first but after awhile you get used to it.

This game, felt like the nearest thing to a modern 'legacy of Kain; with the way death looks. I loved the 1st game, this game also, bought the original then thsi for PS4, might even buy it for PS5 and give 3 a try. Alot of these kind of games, the original God of War and others similar I hated, but the odd one, I loved, this and the 1st game and Ninja Gaiden where my go to action/adventure combat games of that era.

Two words that sum up this game for me, “Wasted Potential” As a kid, I rewatched the trailer for this game every day between the time it was posted and the time the game came out. I was a super-fan of the franchise, and Conviction felt like a dream. But then I woke up. The game is fun for the first couple of missions, but very soon devolves in a repetitive linear story without much creativity put behind it. Sam goes from the grieving and vengeful father to learning his girl is alive so “bye bye motivation” and essentially becoming a clandestine agent for the president, so really still doing the bidding of the US. Something that could've made this game 1000 times better is if they hammered on the open-ended mission structure (kinda like Hitman) and allowed Fisher to do all these missions in succession with the help of clandestine operatives like Vic. Also, in relationship with Grim and her personal goals. It would’ve helped with replayability, upgrades, all that good stuff. And his daughter being alive could've come way later, maybe Reed kidnaps her out of the blue and Sam finds out on the spot that she's alive and then saves her. That way we can have a more violent and vicious Sam all throughout the game both in story and in gameplay. I think SC Blacklist actually was an amazing game in terms of gameplay loop even if the story lacked substance, but if Conviction had played out similarly it could've been THE splinter cell game we still talk about today. Still very sad we haven't had a new one in 11 years now. The franchise deserves more love from ubi, but I doubt it'll get it.

Definitely some strong connection and thanks for sharing your opinion. I came into this one years after release and with zero expectation. I had played the old ones (original, Pandora, chaos) but stopped and didn't get back into it until years after double agent released...unfortunately da was broken for me (I tried twice and at the same point game would break at a cutscene with no possibility of progressing so I just gave up). Basically my perspective is someone who vaguely remembered enjoying the franchise when I was a kid and thought it would be interesting to revisit and see how it felt. Hopefully they will one day revisit the series and put out something in the future which is more thought out and consistent story wise for the true fans such as yourself!
