Who is watching this in 2025 with the recent asbestos recall? Would changing the spur gear make you vulnerable?

i havent heard of that recall, what is it?

So there is two o2 sensor. Pre cat is for afr and post cat is just for cat monitor. Seeing it run that lean means both might be bad or other stuff like vac leak. But yea you could blow ur engine from running super lean...

You can try tightening it and then loosening it... sounds weird but it does work if you dont got a torch and everything else fails. Try tightening it with your impact and then loosening it with the impact. The goal is to break loose the corrosion points.

Crank it until it breaks, then curse your way to a store, and right when they close realize you broke something else then stare at the floor in a pool of sweat with cuts all over your hands. Finally, ignore any new noises or sensations after 4 days pass following the completion of your job. Worked great for me. And, if my wheel falls off on the highway, I won’t have to worry about it anymore now will I?

I don't know if it was just me but the first time he was pointing I thought he was pointing at the slider pins. Like others have said use a long breaker bar after turning the wheel to give you better access. Sometimes percussive maintenance helps so use a 3 pound mallet or a heavier hammer and tap the bolts on the head and that can sometimes free the initial friction. Other times put the breaker bar (non-ratcheting) and bounce it on both stops (tightening and loosening) back and forth and that can also help you get it free. It doesn't look corroded enough for you to need heat to get it free but since that area heat cycles with the brakes they like to get hard to take off.
@JustGrant257 күн бұрын
It does kinda look like I was pointing at the slider pins haha Thanks a lot! I think I’m gonna try the breaker bar and turning the wheel
@legendaryash7 күн бұрын
@JustGrant25 remember initially you are trying to get the bolt to move not necessarily loosen. While it may seem counterintuitive, shocking the breaker bar in both directions will help break through the fusing of the threads and once you get the bolt to move a little you can then go to loosening. After that if it binds up again re-tighten it a little again and then try to get it to start loosening again. 20 years of aircraft maintenance as well as shade tree auto mechanics for 25 years has taught me a lot and on the aircraft side we don't get to whip out the torch any time we want 😂

Turn the wheel all the way to the right. That will give you easier access. Go to your local parts store and grab a map gas torch Heat each bolt and break them loose with a 1/2 breaker bar. The good news is even if the bolts snapyou can buy a new bracket.

A cheap impact doesn’t always say the right torque specs on it. You and try adding more leverage to a breaker bar with a pipe but if not the comment above is right as well hammer it home tell the cows come home might be the way.

17mm wrench and a brass/copper 3lbs hammer. Put the closed end on the bolt and hammer against the curve of the open end. I usually put my free hand over the closed end and hold the wrench, while I hammer. If you don’t have a brass/copper hammer, any hammer will work, as long as the handle isn’t cheap. When my 1600 ft lbs impact can’t take off a bolt and I’m out of Map gas, it’s hammer and wrench time.

Hello guy's! Get a almost new 4x4 vxl and my spur and pinion(13t) sounds kinda loud. Also the velineon engine spins like it have a "step's". Is this okay? Because of it model starts a little bit hard, shaking. Have a old 2wd vxl with older velineon engine and it's spinning smooth (when you spin it with fingers) and spur/pinion is much quitter. Is that okay?
@JustGrant2515 күн бұрын
Hey! The louder sound might be from just dirt in between the gears or your gear mesh being too tight. Mine also steps and I think a good amount of them do although I don’t know if that’s a good thing😂

Great vid as usual brother quick question, what do you think about those michelin cross climate tires? are they excellent on snow compared to winter tires? im just curious thanks bro
@JustGrant2522 күн бұрын
Thanks man!! Yeah they work great I’ve never had full on snow tires on this car so it’s hard to say but I don’t think snow tires would be all that much better and obviously you can use these all year round which is nice! 😄
@VinnesAuto16 күн бұрын
The Cross climate 2 is widely regarded as the best All-weather tire on the market in terms of snow. It is not going to be as good as the best winter tires on the market on snow, but it is going to be slightly better in the dry and wet. That said, the cross climate 2 will not even compare to a good set of summer tires on dry and wet roads, and not even compare to a good nordic friction winter tire on ice. All season/weather tires are fair and square: a compromise. The best would be a set of summer tires, and a set of winter tires, but if you for some reason can't have 2 sets of wheels, then the all season/weather tires are a necessary evil.
