Played Astro Bot and loved all the references but didn’t know about Arc the Lad. It had me curious but your review has made me decide to pick the first one up on the ps3 store today!

I can’t really pinpoint exactly what I enjoyed about this game, but the whole thing was surprisingly something you could settle down and play for hours. The storyline may be a bit bland to others, but I have to say the graphics, open world exploration, voice acting (especially for the King of Trodain and Yangus were spot on), battle system and the utterly gorgeous graphics were selling points. It’s a title, like Star Ocean: The Last Hope I try to play at least once a year. These days, it’s extremely frustrating to find new titles that have this sort of polish before release (only because it was published on a disc)…to me, and while I’ve played others, this particular DQ holds a repayable place in my heart.

Currently playing this. I put it off for many MANY years, like I downloaded the ROM and never played it until this week. It's quite astounding and a lot of fun. Yes, the forests are small, but they seem to randomize each time you exit and re-enter (at least the monsters and rooms) but the layout always the same. The story so far is kinda cute, love Nico. Something about hero with fairy (not Link btw) more like Landstalker's Nigel and his fairy Friday vibes. The first Jade Cocoon was excellent, short, but a also quite fun. In the first game, you could get away with not merging beasts (although that ruins the fun of it), in the 2nd game, YOU HAVE TO MERGE or else you'll get clobbered during placement battles (to upgrade your slots). The sweet knights are my new favorite video game chicks. Really wish there could be a 3rd game. With modern know-how, it could be a big hit. I love the monster merging genre, very hard to find these days.

So MCB the Low Rank Hunter, you wanna play a 3D Mana game that is done right? Then look no further than the 2020 remake of Trials of Mana on the PlayStation 4, not only is it a REALLY good game with beautiful visuals, interesting story(s), fun bosses with not one, but three uneck Final Boss Fights, as well as two new Super Bosses and Six Playable Characters with their own uneck Gameplay, but the gameplay of that game is FAR better then Dawn of Mana as you Level up though Normal Means, no having to put enemies in a "Panake State" by grabbing them using a whip and throwing them at either objects or other enemies, you level up by defeating enemies though regular means. I also want to point out that Dawn of Mana is no longer the last game in the Mana series, as not only did we get a Trials of Mana remake on the PlayStation 4 as I mention earlier, but there is another Mana game called Visions of Mana was made eighteen years later, and from what I saw it looks like a fun game. I figured I mention that.

I replayed legend of aang recently and I still think its very good and its looks far more true to source than Burning earth. Tried Burning Earth today and frankly hated it, it feels so much low effort compared to the first, looking far worse and lazily adapting the shows story instead of doing something original again I have yet to try the third game but plan to soon.

When I was a kid my parents were very strict about the games I was allowed to play and typically bought me new video games on their own when coming home from work or if they went to the store which meant I got a lot of shovelware and other garbage games. I remember one day my dad came home with this game and gave it to me because he thought the cover looked cool. I never got far in the game as I was very young and couldn't figure most of the game out but I remember replaying the first hour or so over and over because I just loved the vibe of the game so much, even to this day I struggle to think of a game that has the same vibe and ambience as Okage. It's so weird and quirky and cool. I should go back and replay it now that I'm older and can actually figure complex games out.

Gameplay over story! This is 100% MetalGearSolid. The funny part is Hideo thinks his story is epic. It’s laughable and always was. But MGS esp MGSV gameplay changed me to story mattering little to not at all. Dark cloud is very easy. But this is because we were kids when we 1st played it and now we see all the mechanics and holes to exploit. It’s we gamers who are OP ;D Cool review bro. I’ll sub

I hated this game on ps2 but i replayed it on a hacked ps3 and finished it on pc with the remaster My opinion on it got better over time, the worst part of the game or the story is the inclusion of Vaan, you could cut him out out and nothing would change

Essentially End of Darkness is to Twilight of Spirits, what Arc the Lad 3 is to Arc the Lad 2! Except 3 was an okay-ish game. While End of Darkness just CEMENTS that the story should have ended in Twilight of Spirits (what makes it WORSE is Twilight essentially CONCLUDED the entire story of the series with the END of the Dark One as he met his FINAL defeat in Twilight which might as well be Arc the Lad 4 story wise! And Arc the Lad 3 was more turning 2's story ending into a more optimistic ending as at LEAST you can say the Dark One was sealed away for good, to the point he had to WAIT till the events of Twilight of Spirits which is from what I guess 1000 of years later!) Best to say I don't care for this one and essentially just treat the story as concluding in 4/Twilight of Spirits and End of Darkness is an unnecessary after story (Tales of Xilla 2 was similar to End of Darkness, but that one wasn't TOO bad and I feel TERRIBLE comparing that game to this one!)

26: Aquaria Towers (Why do people like this one? It is so frustrating!) 25: Icy Speedway (I hate the flight levels so much!) 24: Ocean Speedway (Add the vehicles and it is absolute hell!) 23: Canyon Speedway (The vibes are cooler I guess) 22: Winter Tundra (Love the theme, but it’s kinda boring tbh) 21: Dragon Shores (A really cool idea executed poorly) 20: Metro Speedway (Could’ve been great if it wasn’t a flight level) 19: Sunny Beach (This beach level goes in one ear and out the other) 18: Fracture Hills (I understand the hate, but I can’t hate this one. Sorry) 17: Summer Forest (This home world is ICONIC! The levels in it are ICONIC!) 16: Shady Oasis (I forget this one exists. Which is a shame bc it’s solid) 15: Idol Springs (A funny level with some fun missions) 14: Colossus (Just bigger and better than Idol Springs) 13: Magma Cone (The climbing section is EPIC!!!) 12: Autumn Plains (This homeworld is awesome!) 11: Glimmer (Spyro 2 & 3 nailed it with the first levels!) 10: Mystic Marsh (These theme levels always stand out to me) 9: Cloud Temples (The sky levels never fail to impress) 8: Crystal Glacier (My favorite ice level, which says a lot) 7: Zephyr (The enemies are truly awesome!) 6: Scorch (Reminds me of Crash 3 which is only a good thing) 5: Hurricos (Short, but extremely effective) 4: Skelos Badland (A bit overrated, but still a great one!) 3: Breeze Harbour (Zephyr AT NIGHT is better to me) 2: Robotica Farms (The smashing pumpkin mission is a blast!) 1: Metropolis (Perfect level in every single way!)

I actually see a lot similarities between this game's plot and Yugioh (duelist kingdom arc) A boy's grandfather's soul/life is trapped by an evil freak The boy uses ancient powers he unlocks through some ancient object(s) And now has to battle these "shadow" raiths (In yugioh yugi must prevent the "Shadow" games)

prob my fav game of all time. A modern day version of this game or something similar would be awesome... Free to play with purchasable cosmetics and maybe even dungeons or dlc packages... I think it could be like a more casual POE and an accessible arcade experience for the modern gamer. Im not gonna lie too, I like the bad graphics, they give an acrcady 80's vibe to me that reminds me of the 80s trends with shows like Stranger things... I dont mind bad graphics at all as long as gameplay is good. Nice Vid!
