Did you know that "Ni Hao" directly translates to "you OK/good," but it isn't stated as a question. Mandarin doesn't have a direct equivalent to "hello", and the closest English equivalent to "ni hao" is "howdy". Regardless, awesome cover FaceBagel!!!

I love that you commented this! I did a solo trip to China in 2018 and took 9 months of Mandarin - Beautiful language and so fun to speak with other folks from around the world. But I love to coin the term “Ni-Howdy” as a combination of east and west😂 Thanks for listening!!!

I love when say the drone is at 100Htz singing the vocals between 99Htz and 101Htz. you start to get a wah wah sound form the interference. if you slowly slide your voice you get a scale of harmony's. It works the same on a jaw harp
@facebagelmusic
@facebagelmusic 10 ай бұрын
Agreed! Sort of like a distortion and i don’t know about you but for me it vibrates my whole head when it happens🤣 Didge is such a particular instrument but if you dial it in right, it can do some really cool/beautiful things!!
@deathsoulger1
@deathsoulger1 10 ай бұрын
@@facebagelmusic Yeah It does. It feels spiritual to me. Less is often more with didge. Here is an exorcize I like to practice. I try and circular breath while playing a drone so that the breath doesn't change the sound of the drone.

How long does it take to learn how to play and is hard to learn?
@facebagelmusic
@facebagelmusic Жыл бұрын
On average, people get the basics down in about a week of playing - a simple instrument with a little guide and you can do anything👍 If you’d like to dive in deeper on all things didge related, send me an email at [email protected] and let’s chat! Happy playing🤙

I am not able to get the drone sound. I sound like i am blowing a tuba or one of those plastic horns you see at ball games. The true drone sound sounds almost electronic. I just can't see to find it. Any tips?

Hey Jeff, thanks for watching the vids! And great question, I do have a video in the playlist on how to drone if you were interested but for a quick tip here: Blow raspberries, like you would to a toddler! Make the lips super loose, the looser the better when you’re finding the sweet spot. Less control and more breath - Hope this help and enjoy!! Best, Matthew

Heyo Lazaro, Thanks! Circular Breathing came after a good bit of droning and practicing, I’d say just around 3 weeks after picking up the didge. That being said, I played ALL day long Lol - So practice makes perfect!
