What snivelization/aka modern Neo-liberal society is about, if you are a free spirited human, don't let them break you.Even if you remain a child at least you keep your self respect than end like them, the soulless sell outs.

Remember first hearing this in May 1980. My mother thought i was fiddling with the record player we had, even when this was coming through the radio and i got very forcibly told off. Had to turn the radio down and tape this and play it later when my mother was watching T.V

Great album many today wouldn't really get this, different society then, different times, now everyone thinks they could make an electronic synth album like this on their phone, what most of this generation would consider better voice/ vocals/ better musicianship would likely be technically excellent... but suck IMHO. as I hate how most millennials gen Y sing because growing up in a different world with more privilege and the internet, most are influenced by all the same artist and influencer, not encouraged to be different but instead value conformity and traditional conservative ideals.

difference "individuality" is encouraged, but the result is conformity. Everything is there on a plate. The result is homogeneity I think there is a need for people to have something "new" or unique of their creation that belongs to them and their time. Instead of living via consumable lifestyle indicators. DIY

Beeing creative, beeing able to try out something and take a risks without getting ruined for the next decades of your life, to spend time just "thinking" - there was a freedom in these days, people (especially in citys) today don't have anymore. Areas that were "imperfect" and therefore still affordable (flats, studios, places to practice and experiment) have vanished comletely. To have the time, the (financial) freedom, the inspiring environment etc. to let creativity grow, is getting harder to find, I guess. I love this album - never gets old. Also travel lodge.
