Thanks for this video. My K5 750 had been sitting for about 2 years with fuel and the tank and found quite a bit of rust in there. Used this video as a guide to clean it out (apart from checking all the bolts were magnetic, wasn't fun fishing those ones out), and the tank came up great! Fitted a new pump and regulator, and all is good now.

Hey mate just gonna swing a question here my sons little Suzuki ds 80 is running really funny while it’s cold it’ll start right up but while it was warmed up it ran really boggy have to push start it to get enough revs or the power band to kick in at first I considered the carby so I replaced it problem still occurred so I brought a spark plug and air filter problem still happens not to sure what to do I’ve searched online someone has said reeds can that be a definite factor with bad reeds if so I’ll have to take a look tomorrow after work but please let me know 🙏
@JoeJoeMoto25 күн бұрын
My first thought is carb for sure yeah. But if you have sorted all that other stuff, it would definitely be worth checking the reeds.

I've found the easiest way to set the SAG is to take the shock out of the bike. I got used to do it that way as couldn't get the nuts apart if it was bolted on. Also, do you have stock springs? mind telling me how much you weight? I use stock springs. I'm 1.70m and 81kg
@JoeJoeMotoАй бұрын
Oh right. Yeah, taking the rear shock out would make it much easier. Yep, stock springs. I'm sitting at about 80kg at the moment and I'm 183cm tall.

New subscriber here. Awesome videos. I've purchased a std Beta 200RR on may and been having a blast. I was wondering if you have the SACHS forks on it, and if you have done anything to them? I've revalved mine in order to race, as they were bottoming quite hard

That's no good at all. I would assume you would have to get something shipped from the mainland US and failing that, you would have to get your cylinder repaired and re-nikosil coated.

I really enjoyed this video, thank you! One question I have... I saw that you have some kind of seat pad cover in this video. I just bought a new DR650 and rode it 90 miles from the dealership home. I'm pretty sure I have a seriously bruised monkey butt now from this stock seat. I think the bike is going to be unridable until I do something about that. I researched aftermarket seats like Corbin, Sargent, etc, but they cost $450 and up. That's way more money than I can spend on it right now. What is that seat cover you're using in this video? Is it a significant improvement on seat comfort? Need some good advice on inexpensive workarounds for this. I'm not an ulpholsterer, so I can't go the DIY seat kit route. Thank you!
@JoeJoeMoto3 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for watching. I really don't know what the seat pad is because it was a borrowed bike. Yeah, the stock seats aren't great. I have used a Seat Concepts seat int he past and thye have been so good!

How in God's name did you manage to slide the cylinders over the pistons without removing the engine or using ring compressors? I recently rebuilt mine and had to take the engine out and it took 1 guy to hold the rings in while I slid the piston into the cylinder.
@JoeJoeMoto3 ай бұрын
Hey. It was a bit of a wrangle, but rebuilding two stroke dirt bikes over the years help me with lining up the rings and making sure everything is in the right place before putting the head back on.

Does the 200rr powerband hit like a YZ125 powerband? Do you have to stay on the pipe? Does it eat up spark plugs? Is it low down luggable for tight single track and tractoring up hills?
@JoeJoeMoto5 ай бұрын
No, definitely doesn't hit like a 125 at all and you definitely do not have to stay on pipe at all either. It's got so much low down torque for such a small CC bike, but then can still rev to the moon. Thanks for watching.
