Except she's pretty and serious at her profession,she seems totally desinterested in romantic relationships and has this blank face expression and that's what's making her appealing to men-everyone wants to try their luck with her and be the one who'll conquer.As a person she's aloof and somewhat detached,more rational then emotional and good on her own.

Something important about trust, to me, is that you should trust someone enough to trust them to lie to you. As in, you know that even if they're lying, they're lying for a good cause.

Jane tricked Philo by using the word "water." Philo corrected him -- the word used in the play is "ocean" and only someone familiar with the play would know the exact word used in the text. This proves that Philo was lying about not knowing Shakespeare.

Actually, Jane’s desire for intense revenge is what is conventional. It’s a very modern idea to recommend against personal vendetta and leave it to the courts of law. Look around the world and see what happens in vendetta cultures. I believe a little wary of a partner who felt the permission to say such an insulting thing about the other person’s character rather than admit his own feelings of helplessness and grief. One thing he didn’t follow through on was cutting up Redjon into little pieces. The death was less dramatic than that and less dramatic that it would’ve been in real life.

Not in a million years did I think that Simon Baker, from his wonderful portrayal in "The Mentalist" TV show, would turn up in the portrayal of George Clyde in this incredible Civil War film. What a terrific actor; perfect Southern accent: who would have guessed it? Least of all me. Looking forward to seeing more work that Baker has done. Read more about Simon Baker here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Baker
@keleziz76Ай бұрын
George Clyde is one of my favorite Simon Baker roles. In some ways, Clyde is similar to Patrick Jane in the sense that Clyde was raised in an environment of hate and cruelty, but his humanity still peeped through, as much as it could. There is an internal struggle between what he was taught as a child and what his moral compass is telling him.

One of the most interesting, fascinating, and heart breaking stories told about the Civil War in the United States, in all it's bloodshed and cruelty. I sincerely hope we don't have something similar coming in 2025. Have any lessons from the past been learned as yet? Apparently not.
