Iowa doesn't have the players to run an offense through the post. Gotta play fast, especially if you are taking the bench that deep. Everything else plays right into opponent's hands. Make the mistakes this year so they are ready to go in year 2. Hannah needs to be at the 5 to be effective. Opponents are playing 10 feet off her--that's 4 players on 5, and negating Olsen's game. Never going to work. Not sure what it's going to take. Probably a few more bad losses.

It took about a week longer than I predicted, but Iowa is out of the top 25. In fact, they only received 1 vote. This team is going nowhere without a major change and is unlikely to get a bid to NCAA's. When both of your top 2 players can't score, it is unlikely it is a player problem.

You also need to run down the court and get Hannah into her strength. Two passes bam to Hannah . You don't have the great CC anymore but you need a two strong passers to get that moving fast forward. Break the defense down and have them running to stop you. Momentum !

The need to focus on free throws is a personal decision . You the ball and the charity stripe. Hours and hours of alone time getting into a trance and methodically one after another. You block everything out .

Thus, why the Sr. & Jr. are not playing well. Plus, missing the mental coaching part of basketball. No one could have forseen the Sr and Jr playing terriblely. It appears they are missing the desire/passion for playing basketball. It appears they have no energy.

I’ve been coaching for 25 years. I took accountability for poor coaching decisions Jen coached poorly last night, her veteran point guard and their their best center on the bench with two minutes to go on the game. Poor coaching I thought she would take accountability for that decision-making at the end of the game but in the post conference, she did not Lucy and Sydney are not playing well right now because they’ve had their minutes cut in half this will lead to poor shooting and turnovers turnovers by Lucy and inconsistent play by Sydney. #11 has no business running our team right now because she is not a team player yet. As soon as she touches the ball, she drives to the basket. She needs to work the ball around making the defense move. Then she’ll have a lane to drive in. I believe Jansen will be a great coach, but she coached poorly last night.

It’s frustrating seeing her take her veterans out of the game and play freshman against these veteran teams. What I see is the freshman making lots of mistakes miscues end of the game no one covering someone right under the basket at one point she had four players that have national championship and Big Ten championship experience on the bench and she was trying to win the game with freshman. I don’t understand it. She has the number three score in the NCAA from last year sitting on the bench team needs to gel on the court board. It just feels like she’s making a rebuilding year because she keeps taking her players out if they make one small mistake early in the game It’s really become difficult to watch. They have some freshmen with some talent clearly but they’re not better than flower back a folder Addison O’Grady or Lucy Olsen. Those people need to be in the game gelling as a unit much more frequently. She pulls them out so frequently that but I think the result is that they’re getting beat by more experienced teamskind of sad.

OLSEN has been a disappointment< and its mostly not her fault. IOWA's lineup is built as if Caitlin is still playing. They DONT have height, and most of their players are not gifted athletically. They can shoot, Thats it. BUT without any threat of a deadly scorer, those players are useless! And this is what we see in these past games. OLSEN is playing too nice and doesn't demand the ball as much as she needs to. THE ENTIRE OFFENSE IS BUILT FOR OLSEN TO COOK! She is not Caitlin but she is capable of at least 25 a game. And until she embraces that role, it's a horibble season for these women.

The players who have been through the last 2 years and who played significant and important minutes during that time, and faced the pressure to perform, are nowhere to be found on the court as leaders. Who is the leader on the court of this team? There isn't one. Nobody is holding anyone accountable.....including the coaching staff

We are in a tough spot. Hannah is playing the 4. She has no midrange game at all. The other teams know this, so they are sagging way off her. They can double the post that way. Makes it hard for Grady. We are really struggling at the rim as well. I cant remember a time I have seen us not make layups. Our 2 guard won't shoot. If she does it's not close. Won't drive to the basket at all. Lucy has been off some. Young kids are coming though! Keep the faith Hawkeye nation....

I played competetive basketball 30 years and know a good coach when I see one. We lost 4 senior ball- handling guards last year. The good news is the future looks bright and we have a 5 🌟 and two 4 🌟's coming next year. This is a rebuilding year and if folks can't understand that, it's going to drive them nuts.

Syd and Hannah are not playing up to what I believe was expected from the fans and the coaching staff. Hannah at the four position is not working due to Hannah not having a midrange shot. She basically has one move and even struggles under the basket. Iowa needs to run !!!!

Lineups are changed so early and often there is no way for them to get any familiarity or rhythm with one another. Select a leading lineup and let them play, stop the unending substitutions. I believe Stremlow would be the number one player on this team if she was allowed to play and gain a little experience. Her confidence is way beyond that of any of our seniors. There is absolutely no confidence displayed by our seniors. All they do is pass the ball to one another on the perimeter until the shot clock forces them to make a desperate out-of-control move often resulting in a turnover. I'm getting tired of their timid play. They have some talent but there is something holding them back. Jan needs to get them to release the inhibitions.

The upper classmen are dealing with a major adjustment this year, while the freshmen don't have that history, so they are literally fresh. The team will figure it all out; it just takes some time.

Heiden and Guyton need to play 25 -30 minutes a game regardless of outcome of game.

Jan, you need to define a starting 5 and have a reason for substitutions. Subbing so frequently is causing chaos, leading to turnovers. Players don't know each othe, and passes are slow and rentativ, not crisp and timely. The window of time the player is open, where they need the pass is small. Pass too late, turnovers. In short, your team has no chemistry.
