A couple of things. 1. I remember first hearing this story in a Christian comic book my mom got me when I was in the sixth grade. Two years later, I saw this documentary in chapel. It was an amazing story of faith inside Howard Rutledge and his family. 2. This needs to be made into a movie.

Hi Everyone, Merrill gave me my first flying job. Now the best part: • Merrill always greeted every employee. • He was the first and last to start and leave the work place. • He dressed impeccably and with perfect posture too. • He never complained, yet I know he was in pain. And all that was 60 years ago. Thank you Merrill for being an inspiration all these years. Sincerely, Terry Moore Good Captain Well Seasoned PS. I have logged over 24,000 flight hours .

The human race are already members of a cult. And most of the cukt nembers and all the leaders scapegoat and gaslight and turn a blind eye, ignore glaring facts and evidence to gaslight another member of the cult. Herd mentality designed to keep people opressed and poor. Never to better themselves or discover positive abilities within themselves. Theres even segregation between classes and everyone takes part in the slaughter of animals and the consumption of animals and their secretions. How is the human race not a cult? We even have leaders. Loved the video 👍

Thank you, Mel. Your books Stranger at the Gate and Religion Gone Bad touched me so deeply - your story and the hatred from the church. Widen the circle, bring in the outcasts. I’ll never stop trying.

From all my studying this is my take on Jones. If he had a goal he would do anything to reach that goal whether it was a good goal or bad goal. If his goal was to create a successful biracial church he would litteraly try and steal members from other churches, do fake healings, manipulate, etc. If his goal was to have a mass suicide to make himself famous he went on a campaign to condition people to commit suicide and come up with a plan so they couldn't back out. If his goal was to have sex with a member he would go into full manipulation mode

You can tell that Mel isn't, or wasn't, actually interested in WHO Jim Jones was, or how all of these destitute people came to be under his care. If all we're going to do, is utilize quack psychologizing in order to explain these events, then we're, obviously, not very interested in the truth. These people, he interviewed, who were 'ranking members' of the People's Temple, were undoubtedly agents.

Matthew's Ridge, and the Port Kaituma Area, in Guyana, is one of the most mineral-rich areas on this planet. The airport, at Port Kaituma, was built by Union Carbide, decades earlier. Jonestown was a concentration camp, and once Leo Ryan saw the truth about the People's Temple, he had to be killed. After his murder, the gig was up, and the followers of the temple had to be murdered as well. No one, there, took cyanide. They were all murdered.

I first heard ken years ago at the National Youthworkers' Convention. His music stories are are lively with a sense of humor and often with a lesson too. Hos wrap up song for sermons are the most amazing. I remember 1 time almost everyone in the audience cried cos he sang about healing of all disabilities in heaven🥴

Get a copy of Rutledge's book, In The Presence of Mine Enemies. Fantastic read. Illustrated by Gerald Coffee, a fellow POW. It's astonishing the hate people can inflict on their fellow man ... and what people can endure when they have no choice.

In my memory there is nothing so sad as this. God’s good church. God’s obedient workers deceived by Satan. They only wanted to do good. To be kind. To make a difference for good. Instead they became a by word. A warning. A warning that has crippled churches from then on. Too much or too little, we won’t be guilty, we won’t be taken in. So sad. And yet, God is victorious.

It is the double whammy of being a socialist and a Christian, infantile minds easily deceived and ripe for the plucking. Grow up and take responsibility for your own life instead of relying on a bureaucratic/spiritual leader who may simply guide you blindly into some utopian CIA mind control camp.

This is incredible. I was in awe over a live concert video (“Moses”) that was mentioned in the book “Thrive” by Mark Hall (Casting Crowns) - and never did it occur to me even once that this man was blind. What a great uplifting and life affirming documentary. They sure don’t make them like they used to.

Just listened to several KZbin clips of Ken Medema and couldn't stop smiling ear to ear. I used to listen to him back in the 80's. Someone had given me some cassette recordings and I listened to those for years (until technology changed so much). I was feeling properly down today (long story) and the moment I started listening to 'Moses' from the Azusa Pacific University recording, I just started smiling. Ken, you've touched so many lives. I thank God for you and that you chose to live instead of feeling sorry for yourself.

I think Jones may have been an iIInmjnati member. His name is JWJ, which is 161. This is an alphanumeric way of writing 666. The "number one" mirrors the Hebrew 6; think Monster's drink logo and you will get it. If this is the case, he could have chosen to become a member on his own or his parents may have sold him out. A lot of these people that are given platforms are iIInmjnati traitors. If this is true, then some of his background story would be a well-crafted lie. I'm not saying that they got him to kjII his members, but, by the time he got to South America, he may have already been a demon-possessed leader. This would be something that he'd have in common with any occnIt leader! Such a person could be suicidal and/or genocidal; an evjI entity would also point him at drugs to worsen him, since it doesn't care about Jones. Whatever the case, you have to be careful about those groups whose goal it is to isolate you from society. At this point, you have to ask yourself: what if there is no way out?! If you do decide to go, you can't have a family nor ever have one(BECAUSE YOU WILL ENDANGER THEM) and you have to be willing to die for what their plan now is or what it will be in the future(his/her goals or presentation could change drastically over time). You have expect to be entering into a roaming environment and there can never be any guarantee that you will ever be able to leave! With PT/JT, it began as a seemingly Christian group. By the time it was over, he was throwing bjbjes, sleeping with anyone in the commune he wanted(despite being married), proclaiming himself to be the Almighty, giving suicide tests and readying the congregants for genocide, working people like slaves, swearing, and putting whites in leadership over the overwhelmingly black majority like they did on a plantations*(it was supposed to be racial equality). *According to the Jonestown movie(1980) starring Powers Boothe, these whites in leadership were cruel to blacks like on a plantation, as well. Jones could also order his inner circle to attack, punish, etc.
