Like your videos, but you cannot be serious. Betting a 2-5 favorite, and calling that "Value". Ain't no way. Value horses are 10-1 shots that have some underlying "value", that the public is not seeing.

The fact that it was a sure winner meant he can single it in a pick 3-4-5, adds value by less expense in the long run

Thanks for talking about the weather. We are going on a Viking River cruise - Christmas markets - in early December so are collecting our winter gear now. We both grew up in cold weather states but have lived for a long time in Southern California! Hope we stay warm! (So mostly snow? Hats, gloves and scarves! Too cold for rain?!)
@marklove39132 жыл бұрын
I think your chances of snow are very dependent on the luck of the draw, but definitely plan on cold temps....which was part of the appeal for us (being from Fla).

Really!.odds on chalk at 2-5.I get a kick how tip sheets and drf handicappers list there selections for WPS for the entire card.they highlite there so called bet of the day.More often than not it is a odds on chalky selection.imo they should change this to most probably winner of the day, because betting odds on horses to win is certainly not a good bet.continue to do this and you will go broke quickly.i think you need to look for some value.

Lone speed horses are the best bet in racing.something needs to be done about odds changing after start of the race.hirse leaves the gate at12-1 before the first quarter is run drops to 9-1.i understand the reasoning behind this,but needs to be fixed.it sends a wrong message towards beginning horseplayers.horse racing's image has been tarnished and this doesn't help gaining new fans going forward.btw it didn't hurt your cause at all having Paco Lopez up.you know this horse was getting the lead.lol.one of the best gate riders out there.

Good stuff Mark, can I also add to this pick and angle, One turn mile with a sprinter dropping from MSW TO MD, I would have been a bull in a china shop getting to the window

Mark do you have any books you’ve written about horse racing?
@marklove39133 жыл бұрын
I have not. But you can check out my journals which include a lot of how/why I made the selections here: markimtravel.webs.com/gulfstream-winter-racing for the Gulfstream meet, or here: markimtravel.webs.com/handicapper-s-corner for the spring-through-fall racing seasons. Thanks for following!

We did the Grand European cruise in October 2019 and loved it with Viking. Looking at your video makes me start planning for a Christmas cruise. We have recently moved from Miami to North Carolina, so maybe we will have built up an immunity to the cold by then.

You seem like you know your stuff. I would just add one thing. It isn't a "class drop" if the horse didn't display at least some type of ability to be competitive at the previous class. Something had to have been shown in order to warrant the class drop meaning anything as far as a bet that day. Plus we also have to look at just how steep the class drop is and what this means to the stable if they don't have a good showing. I found that the more a stable had to lose by not having a good showing the better bet it was. When I say "lose" I mean the time, energy and money it takes to ready a horse for one big race.

I’m watching this, because I’m from AZ and I’m going from Budapest to Germany on the Viking cruise. Was just wondering how cold it was? What I should pack?

We went mid-December and the temps were largely in the 20's, highs in the mid-30s. It was pretty chilly but we loved it...we're from So Fla. Gloves, hats and scarves nearly a requirement each day.

Hello ! Can you tell us how noise was ?
@marklove39135 жыл бұрын
Hi Miranda. We didn't notice any noise out of the ordinary. I think it helped that being at the back of the ship there were not rooms across the hall. We enjoyed the large room and HUGE veranda with a panoramic view.

When you say 12 wins did you have losses as well?
@marklove39136 жыл бұрын
For the day on that day I was 19-for-44, 43% which would be considered excellent by any handicapping standard. Typically my winning rate is about 35% which is where it is over a twelve year period of over 20,000 races in my data bank. Thanks for the comment/question!
